Does readability of articles on a money site matter for ranking?

I used kontent machine to spin an article that on ntopic.org has a 99.40% score. The article is about 600 words however the article is a little choppy. All the words are spelled right, but if you were to read the article you would be able to tell it's written kind of funny.

I am ranking this site and then going to use a program to put my clients site over my site, so the readability as for as for customers go doesn't matter. Question is does the article need to be readable as a ranking factor in google's eyes.

You're essentially trying to rank with a copy of an article that already exist. That may or may not matter depending on your backlink profile and other factors, but Google may just put your copy to the supplemental index.

It's pretty hard to say for sure until you do the experiment. Some people rank all the time with spun and ripped content, others get nowhere or may even get their asses handed to them. Google doesn't like spun crap ranking as you can clearly see from Panda being developed further and further, but their algorithm is far from perfect.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Don't forget that Google still uses human quality raters, so even if your site is ranking now, everything could change the minute one of those rankers sees it.

Spun articles rarely read well. Which means that even if you do get ranked, there's a good chance visitors will start reading, realise it's junk and press the back button.

I'm not totally sure what you mean by putting the clients site over yours but if you're aiming to cloak or deliver a different page to rank on Google versus the one delivered to real visitors, don't hold your breath about keeping any rankings you might achieve once Google's spiders figure out the subterfuge.
