I have a question about backlinking keep in mind im just starting to learn so this question might and probably will sound really stupid. If im doing seo for a cliente i would assume some might not want me out there trying to build backlinks on behalf of their name incase i do something to damage their reputation. does it make sence to have my own domain with relavent content to my clients business. do whatever i can do build backlinks to that domain then link that domain to my clients site? or use my domain to link it to say 4 sub domains then link all of those to my clients site? this way if i do something spammy or weird witch im sure i will at first it wont directly effect my clients site. now i dont have any clients and i wont for awhile until i have this stuff down. but let me know if this makes sence. and theirs a 90% chance i just sound crazy cuz i dont really know what im talking about yet lol. scared for these responses yikes lol

This is a fairly easy answer. Google for terms like 'seo footer link'. It basically means that there is NO problem when your clients website and your links to each other. Just Nofollow them. There is quite the controverse going on about this subject, but from personal experience Nofollowing them and giving them good Title's works like a charm. It is not nesceccarily for getting a backlink, it's for getting your name seen by people that's more important and will lead to natural leads.

(This is just a really short recap on the subject itself, you can find mountains of articles and discussions about this)
