When I try to pick a market and do keyword research I really don't know what I'm doing Im really just guessing and not sure what numbrs I should be looking at.

So my results are that It seems like *Every* market I research is either completely saturated, or completely no traffic or interest from people with no products.

Is there a "Keyword research for idiots" course anyone recommends? Or a great video on youtube?
And I saw Market Samurai do y'all like that or there something better?

Check out this video I did a year ago or so. Still 100% relevant and a GREAT tutorial (IMO) on how to find buyers keywords using the Google Keyword Planner and other free tools

    Hope this helps!

    Marc,

Just to add to the excellent advice already given: while I do think it imperative that most online marketers learn SEO, having been practicing it for around 2 decades, I can tell you that expert knowledge and usage does not come overnight, which I'm sure you know. My suggestion, then, is to learn, yes, but supplement that learning by looking into other forms of traffic generation. And if I had to choose I'd say "socials."

I think you should use the wordtracker tool for keyword analysis and there you have to find the K.E.I is the keyword effectiveness index which determines the probability of ranking a keyword on the search engines.

I don't think only google keyword planner will help you doing keyword research, you need to mix it with makret samurai and long tail pro.

Keyword research is a tedious job, and we all do have different strategies.
Just remember that when doing a keyword research on your site make sure to also consider your target audience and not just search engine alone. Target long tail keywords because it is much easier to rank, though make sure that it is also rankable.

When it comes to keyword research you cannot just rely on tools but consider other medium that will effectively target your audience like within the active online community which is related to your field. Analyze their behavior on how they correspond with their interactions then you will come up with a better strategy to reach the users.
