Less than 10 clicks a day... Where did my Seo optimization go wrong?

Hello my name is Peter and I think my seo optimization has failed hard.
Still i took the "best keywords" using the program "rank tracker" with lowest competition.
And now a few months later, i am getting 3-8 clicks from google everyday.

What did i do wrong? This is killing me...

My site is CoolJpStuff | Cool Japanese stuff - Japan Shop no.1 and I am selling Japanese stuff such as figures and Japanese games. It is a popular area and people buy things like this like crazy on ebay everyday, but I have better prices than ebay. So i think i have a chance to do a business here, still with 3 organic clicks per day i wont come far...

I am not asking for a deep analyzation, can you just give it a small check and see if i did some major mistakes...

You are 3 or 4 months in and you are asking where you went wrong?

    This isn't 2011 anymore....

I recommend you just watch Gary V's video to get your head straight and your expectations on track:

You mean i should wait longer? I just get so confused when some people say you should expect results within 1-2 months.

I am just worried i failed hard somewhere...

Wait and watch the next 30 days. Google takes time to index and rank a new site. I think you will improve as because you already have started getting some clicks everyday.

I have doubt about your "best keywords".I think you have to do a proper keyword analysis again.I would like to recommend "market samurai" or do it manually. Search volumes of the keywords, strengths of the competitors, competitor backlinks,Competitors DA,PA,PR..etc

I used the program "Rank tracker" where you can write keywords and they give suggestions , show competition and the whole package. For each product category page i choose the highest ranking keywords with low competition.

Rank tracker maybe isnt that good?

I never used this software and can't tell anything about that. Without do a proper keyword analysis we can't tell whether it is competitive or not. I think best way is do it manually at least your main keywords. If not try this one kwfinder.com

Thanks for your reply, i guess i should go for ones with low ppc competition and many searches?

Like my category here, do you think i put too many keywords in the description above the products?

CoolJpStuff | Cool Japanese stuff - Japan Shop no.1

Actually those are all keywords that i found in rank tracker and are supposed to be good.

No.PPC Competition is the number of advertisers that showed for each keyword relative to all keywords across Google. This is not relevant to the SEO

Let me try to be a bit clearer than I was in my previous post.

Yes, you need to be more patient. I'm not sure who you have been hearing is getting ranked in 1 to 2 months... Getting ranked for what?

My comment about 2011 you need to understand that several years ago it was drop dead simple to not only get sites ranked in 60 days, but to make money from them as well. We just don't live in those times any more....we just don't.

A bit controversial but IMO there is definitely a sandbox in place for new sites. Whereas it used to take 2 months to rank, I'm finding its much closer to 6 months or more.

So yes, IMO you need to be more patient. Put in the hard work. Come back in a year and tell us how you are doing. If it was that easy to rank sites in 60 days don't you think everyone would be doing it?

Instead look around. How many threads are on WF complaining about not getting ranked in 60 days? To be honest, that's exactly why I don't come here any longer. Look at this thread....everyone has joined WF in 2015. I've been here since 2008 - I'm ancient when it comes to internet years. I've been around the block. Take it from me (or don't, your choice) but you need to be more patient and put in the work.

Did you watch the video? My guess is you didn't....

Thanks for your kindness to reply.

So this is a normal situation after 4 months?

        It's not abnormal. Again....patience.

I would also probably stop the "education" backlinks that are really circa 2010 forum links that anyone can post.

On a more positive note, if you are really looking to improve your search rankings, I would start writing longer form descriptions for your products. Currently, google has nothing to index for your product pages. Each of your products has very little indexable content.

Work less on getting those forum links (which will potentially HURT you in the long run), and focus more on creating a great site, with lots of content that is indexable by google. Because then, and only then, will you actually start showing up in the SERP's.

What do you think of that suggestion?

Care to think on how to find your website by your targeted audience?
Try to analyze and study your audience (in active online community) regarding their behavior on your related field and you will come up an effective idea on how to reach them.

    @kallebru24

Another thing to think about before you take this project further.... Even if you get the traffic you are looking for, is it going to convert to a sale?

I don't know your market at all. But based on the comments in this forum post they must be out of line: RetroCollect Forum • View topic - I will get any rare Japanese games for you! Brand new!

So before you take this project much farther....maybe run some paid traffic to see if you even have a viable business? You might find that you just aren't competitive on pricing and therefore no amount of traffic is going to help you.

Backlinks. You only have handful of them, and most are lousy. There's less than half-a-dozen good if you only count one per site (according to Majestic). If you want to seem popular and important to Google backlinks are something you need.

And yes, that's probably the hardest part of SEO.

There's a few points from Big Kahuna's posts that I'd like to highlight. First, patience. It just isn't that easy to rank high. Second, product pages. There's very little text, and the popup might actually hurt you. Do you have individual product pages that can rank? Can you write something interesting and/or funny about the stuff you sell? That might help.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.

In your opening post you state:

...have you ever considered opening an Ebay store or selling some of the items you have offered on your website on Ebay as a means of getting interested and "buying" customers (you state your prices are better that those currently selling there!) to first of all 'buy' and secondly learn who you are, i.e., build a list?

Do not rely on SEO as the only source of traffic for you, it should be part of a comprehensive strategy that seeks to find users who will value your content.

You can use PPC, Social Media, Blog Outreach, Forum posting, and other strategies in the mean time to build up your traffic base as you wait for SEO to catch up, once you get more data it is easier to make adjustments, and account for user flow, landing pages, bounce rate, and targeting keywords similar to what you are already ranking for.

For such a website, you need to create a COOL Facebook Page and Twitter Account (or any other Social Media profile too)... People will start sharing it and using it daily like crazy as you said they are often buying those from Ebay... For SEO.. Maybe create some videos promoting products, don't forget to use related forums too!
