Adsense Clicks not Registering on WP site.

Hi everyone, I have a few adsense sites out there. All are coded and SEO'd manualy except for one I just recently built with WP. All receive adsense revenue regularly except for the WP site - which has received only one click since inception - a single $0.63 click. It doesn't get alot of traffic just yet, but I have promoted it thoroughly and recieve roughly 25 to 30 visits a day.

A couple friends wrote me and told me they checked out the site, and I asked them if they happened to check out any of the ads and 2 said they did. However I checked my account and none of the clicks registered.

Forgive me if this sounds like a retarded question but is there another step I need to do running Adsense on a WP site. Is there any other reason that Google may not be registering these clicks?

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

First of all ,never ask Google directly, because the will ban your adsense account... In my life I never heard that Adsense failed, not once... maybe your friends didin't click?

Did they click a link unit, or a text ad? If it's a link unit, remember they have to click twice. Once through to list of ads, and then again through to whatever ad they choose to read. If they click once it won't count.

Also, check your adsense id # in Wordpress. If it's an adsense-ready theme it might have the creator's id as the default.

Also remember that it can take a few hours for clicks to register sometimes.

That's all I can think of. If you can't solve it you could try creating a new ad code and repasting it in place of the old one in case something went wrong with it.

Thanks for the advice. I did in fact replace the code in the WP theme - but I oughtta triple check that. I already checked it twice. If there is a delay, perhaps it will show up later. They told me they checked an adsense advertisement about 12 hours ago.

I'm baffled...i will try to repaste the code.. Hopefully that will clear it up.

I would never ask Google...that's what the great folks here at WarriorForum are here for!

Clear the WP cache if you have it enabled. Manually delete all the files in the cache directory.

25 to 30 visits a day will not generate anything, unless it is
highly targeted traffic with enticing links. And getting people
to click to test is a very bad idea. This forum is full of threads
by people who swear google banned them for no reason. But
they forget many things they may have done. Patience
in this case is indeed a virtue. Get more traffic, get more
    clicks.

I'm using Bluesense theme by DoshDosh - is there any reports of this happening with this theme? I don't think that my php is up to par to determine if I have some special coding - thank you for bring my attention to this phenomena.

I'm tempted to go back to creating my sites the good old fashioned way!

Do you think my account can get banned if I instruct other people to click? I've only done it two times (as mentioned previously), ever - and I am explicit to only click once when I ask them.

I never implicitly ask for people to click and I only promote the information on my site. If people click for the sake of clicking, it screws up my analysis for optimization.

Not only yes, but hell yes. I would go back and edit my posts if this was me. I don't know if Google could figure out who you are and your site, but I would not want that information to be anywhere that Google might find it. And they will obviously crawl the forum. Will it be read by anyone or anything that can understand it? I don't know, but I would not want to find out.

I am probably a little cautious, but that is a sure fire way to get your account banned if Google ever found out. From what I understand, you can't even put a sentence to please support our sponsors on your site. And you asked someone to click the ad?

          Hi chrisnyce,

Have you checked the allowed sites section of your AdSense account? If you have enable this feature and have not put your domain name in properly then this would prevent any of your clicks from counting.

Don't have your friends click your ads, Google is very very good at linking you to your family and friends to detect invalid clicks. They don't give second chances.

Clicks from certain countries and certain computers may not be counted if they are considered dubious or otherwise valueless for advertisers.

Ha! I found out the hard way - YES. I use BlueSense heavily - in fact, I have dozens & dozens of BlueSense sites (the CTR is the best of any theme I've tested) - HOWEVER... one of the adblocks already has Dosh-Dosh's Adsense code in it. Very slimy if you ask me. I had to hunt through all the .php files to find it. There are three .php files clearly titled "Adsense Block". Then there is one that not only isn't labeled, but it's formatted so that when you bring it up in the editor, the adblock code is a l l t h e w a y on the right out of view unless you search for it (ctrl-f, "pub").

Dosh Dosh does have has his adsense code implemented in the Bluesense template, however not to discredit his hard work, I did find complete instructions on where to substitute your own adsense code - including the sidebar.php.

2 of the ad areas are clearly defined in the title of the php file and those php files contain nothing but ad code. But the sidebar.php file that shares the category and post widgets also has ad code implemented. This is clearly stated in the instructions.

Is that right? Family and friends? That's crazy. What if I promote my blog on Facebook and one of my friends goes to the site and becomes interested in the advertisements? Do you really think it's that stringent? I mean I could understand a consistent click from the same URL on a regular basis. If what you say is true that I could be in trouble because I have promoted the hell out of my blog on facebook and through all my fam and friends to have them send it to others.

Will take the precautionary measure and edit...

You don't have to panic about it if it's really only 2 clicks ever. But you have to be careful because sometimes people's friends think they're doing them a favor and click 50 ads every day and get their friend banned.

But I think we're a bit off topic
