Before you can optimize your website, social media profiles or anchor text for link building, you have to know what keywords you want to use. When it comes to local search marketing, you are not only targeting industry-specific terms but geo-specific terms as well.

Include your name, address and phone number.

If you can get locus reviews, then that would be better.

While doing you on-page SEO, remember to add City/Region in SEO tag.

And focus on long-tail keywords and check out the SEO competition.

    Hi

First thing If you haven’t already, you’ll need to claim your Google My Business page.

Find more info HERE and on how to set up Google My Business.

All you need to know is that once you’ve set it up, you should include the following:

Add a long, unique description that’s formatted correctly and includes links.
Choose the correct categories for your business.
Upload as many photos as possible.
Add a local phone number to your listing.
Add your business address that’s consistent with that on your website and local directories.
Upload a high-resolution profile image and cover photo.
Add your opening times/days (if relevant).
    Get real reviews from customers

    NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number)

Consistency is key here. You need to ensure that you have your full NAP across your whole website (i.e. every page). Furthermore, you must use the exact same details/format when you mention your address on other websites

Local Reviews: Local reviews have a direct impact on local search rankings, so you’ll want to spend some time acquiring them.

On-page SEO for local businesses conforms to some pretty old school SEO tactics. There’s quite a large weighting towards the on-page content in the local search listings, so it’s important that, where possible, you squeeze the most value out of your content.

    Few important bullet points:
Try to add your City/Region, plus a relevant keyword, within your landing page title tag.
Try to add your City/Region, plus a relevant keyword, within your landing page H1 tag.
Try to add your City/Region, plus a relevant keyword, within your landing page URL.
Try to add your City/Region, plus a relevant keyword, within your landing page content.
Try to add your City/Region, plus a relevant keyword, within your landing page image ALT attributes.

If you wants to focus on local SEO so you need to put physical address and contact number on your website and search area, state or city wise keywords and place these on main elements of on-page seo like meta tags and do submit your website in citation websites, yellow pages and business directories.

Use your keywords in title, url, alt text, etc. Don't over do it (use related keywords rather than pointlessly repeating the same keyword).

Have the physical address displayed on your site (preferably on all pages you want to rank, even if it's the footer).

    GEO tag your photos.

Get links from other local sites, preferably related (if your site is about home insurance, get links from other insurers (hard), mortgage broker, real estate agents, appraisers, inspectors, architects, surveyors, hvac guys, plumbers, etc.

Citation volume and the number of other business listings referencing your business location(s) are important in google local 3-pack; however, consistency and accuracy will always take precedence over volume. Here's a list compiled by Hubspot of the 50 local business directories to submit your business

Just don't forget to include images, videos and link to the event site (If there's any website dedicated to that event). Want more Local Content Creation Idea, read Mike Ramsey Strategy.
