I have been wondering majorly with what seo websites do say about quality posts and backlinks, some do claim to do backlink first and some others do give off to quality post and you will see the result but MY QUESTION IS ? As we all know quality post a'int easy to create, now imagine me creating upto 4000words unique quality and competitive post e.g ''off page seo'' just as an example, i am very sure that for a 2month old website without much backlinks it can never rank even till the 20th page that means people cant link back to the page and will result in nil And Secondly if i devote time to building authorities from high pr not spammy then focus on quality post won't that be much better than focusing on longer quality post without seeing positive result in serp? pls advice me

You just have to keep doing both i.e. creating good quality posts and good quality backlinks. Keep going until your on the first page.

O.K. here's what I understood from your post.

You want to focus primarily on building quality backlinks BUT you are not so motivated to write quality content for your blog; right?

From user and SEO perspective, this my friend is a big NO NO. Why? Let me explain.

Just for instance, what if you successfully make backlinks for your site and receive traffic, but what happens when your visitors won't find quality content on your blog??? You can not expect them to return to your blog again, neither can you expect them to refer your site to others; can you?

Secondly, regarding your example of writing 4000 words of post, and that it is not going to help you because of the highly competitive keyword you are targeting (off page SEO). My friend, if you do it the right way, RESULTS WILL NOT BE NIL. Instead, results will be fruitful in the long run.

So what if you didn't ranked for 'off page SEO'? If your 4000 words post is based on quality and is optimized, then you should be confident that it will have other 'long tail keywords' in it to bring quality and target traffic to your blog.

So my friend, my advice would be to, focus on writing quality posts FIRST. Then in the same time, work with social networking. Yes, it's time consuming but it is result-oriented.

    Good luck,

I had this question pop in my mind many times.

As OvaisAhasan said.... if you do not have quality post on your site then what is the use of just focussing on building backlinks...

you might start getting traffic but will disappoint the visitors...

I would suggest rather to create some good content on your site, say about 20- 25 good quality posts, and then start working on creating backlinks and generating traffic while continuing on to create content as well..

Doing this will ensure that your visitors have some reason to stay on your website for sometime or bookmark your site or refer someone else..

      Thanks

You should be steadily building both forever. But, new websites need good/fresh content before links will do anything. Start writing posts/content for your site first. Get some of that up there and then start doing some backlink building. From then on, continue adding more content to your site and continue building more backlinks.

This isn't true. Start creating backlinks right away. Unless a keyword is some very obscure, extremely low competition phrase, it's going to take some time to rank. Get going on the backlinks right away so you can have a stream of backlinks over time.

I work with a guy who is always creating new sites, and I start with backlinks even when he has nothing but the generic WordPress install with no content. Right now this same guy has such a "no content" site that he hasn't gotten around to working on for about 2 months now, and his home page is ranking about #12 for his keyword. I've got a few good backlinks with his keyword as anchor text. Admittedly it's not a highly competitive keyword, and ranking #12 isn't amazing, but it goes to show that it's backlinks, not content, that rank.

With the exception of including your desired keyword (or a semantic equivalent) on the page, and having a keyword-related title and heading, content isn't very important for SEO. For conversions - for making sales, sure. You need good content to get visitors to buy.

You're not writing 4,000 words. Hell, you can't even write a paragraph.

  • Obviously, you first need a good piece of content and then you can earn backlinks for it.

    As see it like this:

If there is nothing 'on page' that people want to read, then your 'off page' makes little difference.

Search engines are not stupid, they are improving in language skills and know if what you write is a load of crap or if it is genuinely written well and unique.

  • I can share a simple formula: Quality Posts + Content Promotion + On-Site Optimization = Good SE Ranking... But we all know that content promotion is a very vast topic.
