How to Hide my Traffic Source?

I would like to know what the best way to hide or spoof my traffic source would be. I don't want my affiliate managers seeing my traffic and possibly stealing my campaign. Maybe I'm paranoid but It's earning me some good income right now and I dont want this ruined.

Would DMRurl work?

Or a normal double meta refresh?

Or something better?

I would like it to look like this

[Traffic source] ---> Site #1 ----> Landing Page ---> Affiliate link
The traffic source needs to be blank or spoofed.

Site1 should automatically redirect all traffic to my landing page. My "Landing page" needs to redirect traffic ONLY from site #1 to my affiliate link.

Maybe there is a simpler way?

Not BlueFart so no one jump the gun and scream BlueFart

Thanks in advance guys!

Or these guys NewUrl

    I was talking to someone a few days ago and this subject came up. I don't really understand how this is done, but hopefully what he told me will be of help to you.

    Basically he told me that it helps to hide your referrals via Tracking202 or Prosper202. I went to Google and looked them up and found some information real easy. I still don't understand all what they do, but I don't think it is necessary to understand it. Hopefully this will help you, or someone else will come along that knows what they are talking about.

      Hi jitterbug978,

      If you are using your own landing page your affiliate manager does not have the ability to see your traffic source. Unless you pass information though the affiliate link parameters you need not worry.

      The problem with tracking sources for your conversions can be solved by adding a tracking parameter to your affiliate link. If you use a tracking system similar to prosper202/tracking202 you can add a unique tracking number for each of your sources and this makes it impossible for your affiliate to decipher your source.

        Well I don't always have a landing page, sometimes It isn't mine I just supply the visitor to the page.

        I'd like to cloak how the visitors are getting there by redirecting them through a page of mine.

          All you need is a simply redirect script.

          Code:
          <?php
          header( 'Location: http://www.youraffilitesite.com/hop_link.html' ) ;
          ?>
          If you are using parameters in your source link that you want to hide, just redirect to an intermediate page before redirecting to your hop link.

    I believe that you can do that with Tracking202 or Prosper202. I don't remember which one is a self hosted application and it is free. The other one is a paid service from what I think I read.

    I imagine that you could use a redirect page hosted on your site though. From what you wrote, a simple page with code in it to redirect to the affiliate link would work. I don't remember the code for that but I am sure that you can get that from a site like Htmlgoodies.com or some other resource such as that.

    dburk, that will still show your referrer. You can either use a double meta refresh to blank the referrer or you can use CPA Redirector but the script is obviously designed for BH intentions. Most affiliates don't like a blanked referrer as this usually means something that needs to be hidden (BH) is being done. If it is just for Clickbank or sales based affiliates then the double refresh will suffice.

    It's really very simple and low-tech. On a separate domain create a simple landing page that just has a big message saying 'click here to continue to domain.com' (or similar) and send all of your traffic to the landing page.

    Most visitors will click on your link, thus showing your landing page's domain as the referrer.

    If you want to be more convincing to your AM you can brighten up the landing page with a few images and graphics but nothing else is needed.

    You can use fakereferer.com for changing the referer to a high authority site like google or twitter. This makes it look legit to your CPA or affiliate managers

    Or Blankreferer.com offers options for stripping the referer completely.
