hello there,

i have done some keyword research on my niche and every time i was creating a new backlink i used those keywrods as contextual links. But when i read articles on popular blogs i see that they don't use some exact keyword phrases as their contextual links, instead they combine two or three sentences and in the middle they have keyword they want to rank on.

What guideline do you use to create contextual links??

    Milwaukee mortgage broker

Mike is a Milwaukee mortgage broker who specializes in FHA loans

Consider the above anchor texts. If you're looking for FHA loans, you're more likely to click on the 2nd.

Is that important to you, that people click?

I end up with both kinds, so I never run into the problem of overdoing anchor text... But people who've overdone anchor text (used too few) say they got penalized. So, they do the 2nd kind to not have the same anchor text appear too many times.

A contextual link is just that. It's smack in the middle of
content, like a paragraph. It is a sentence that makes sense
in the context of the paragraph. If it does not belong, then
it's flagged as possible spam. Like if you have a student loan
line right in the middle of an electric razor article.

A byline, author's sig, etc. is not contextual.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.
