I suggest to create a blog on the e-commerce domain (e.g www.myecommercesite.com/blog) and start writing some keyword-focused content on the blog to attract organic traffic.

Your question depends on whether you are a start up or if your ecommerce store is up and making sales. Since anyone can setup an ecommerce store these days, I tend to focus on those that are making sales but who could do so much more with SEO expertise.

Ecommerce website that wants to rank for big keywords require more links but you need to drip the links and maintain the link velocity. If using a PBN, I'd do a category push if your website is siloed correctly. Generally you want to push authority to the domain/category level over an individual product.

Meta description is tough in ecommerce. The trade off of writing unique vs what is on the page. It's all just a measure of # of products vs ROI to achieve clickbait.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?

Your first start is unique product descriptions.

With that you will pick lots of engaging long tail traffic, at which point you move onto building links to the main category pages.
