What do you mean by this? Is it a legitimate complaint or something else? What kind of search (keyword) brings that site to search results?

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

I know it depends on jurisdiction, but it's probably pretty hard to get them to stop by any legal means. Depends on the things they say, of course.

So the important question: do you get that result easily by just googling your brand or product names? There's a point to this question. Quite often the entrepreneur is doing some weird vanity searches that no real visitor is ever going to do. If that's the case there's really not much need to waste time on this. Whoever did this just got under your skin, that's all.

Ok, so it seems to be a problem.

What have you tried so far? The usual stuff about trying to outrank them with social media profiles etc? Of course that's not automatic, especially if their site is a strong one.

I'm not a specialist in this particular field by any means, but we're starting to be in the point that the case is clear enough for someone to offer some good suggestions.

Unless they are blatantly lying and you have proof, legally, there is probably no way you are going to get the site down.

You have 2 options. First, is to reach out to the person and see if you can come to some sort of an agreement. Second, is to hire someone for online reputation management. I do these projects a lot. They can be relatively simple, but basically you want to create multiple properties to rank for the same search term and knock their listing back to page 2 or page 3, where nobody is likely to look.

Is the website listed is a review sharing website?

Most of the search engines loves review sharing websites and takes into an account for brand keyword rankings. but still many spam sites are ranking good (This is a different scenario).

    To get them unlisted:
    1. Contact the website administrator, tell them to delete the links. I am sure many expect dollars.
    2. Negative SEO - I am not a person who is encouraging this deal. But we can delist any link by using this technique (Not instantly but we can).
    3. Is the link has your bank account number or any other security numbers, then removing it is very easy in Google index.

let me know if you need any more suggestions

That is a risky idea. It can often backfire and you end up making them rank higher instead. I would not mess with that.

    Try better customer service.

You'll probably claim a smart ass remark but I seriously doubt an actual customer would go out of their way to rip on a seller unless they're telling the truth.

Tell us, where did it all go wrong?

As far as SEO you'll most likely have to junk up the SERPs for your target keyword in order to push the negative webpage to page #2 or #3 on the SERPs where traffic won't find the currently ranked page.

Basically rank fluff pages like all the branded social media profiles (Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, etc...).

As Mike F. said adding links is risky. Even if you tried your best the site in question may just get stronger. Also, if the site is a part of an established site those links just may not count against them.

If you are not the owner or webmaster of the site and have access to the sites Google search console, then it is going to be difficult to deindex it.
