Better than any keyword tool

I gave up using keyword tools a long time ago. I have had much better results looking for real search terms that don't appear in any keyword tools by going to Google and typing in:

{keyword phrase} + "incoming search terms"
{keyword phrase} + "recent search terms"
{product name} + "incoming search terms"
{product name} + "recent search terms"
{keyword phrase} + "extreme tracker"
{product name} + "extreme tracker"
etc.

If you take the time to do this and play around with variations of your keyword you can start to build a list of long tail keywords that have very little and many times no competition at all which can rank you on page 1 of Google instantly. Keywords that you would never discover in the Google Keyword Planner or any other keyword tool.

Occasionally you'll come across a blog that has a huge list of incoming search terms and some of those searches will be from people typing in exact match domains e.g www. keyword .com and a lot of the .com's will not registered as the visitors are guessing that the domain name exists. I have found dozens of these and every .com is available.

Once you have a good size list (I copy and paste them into Notepad) incorporate the phrases into your content or create new pages and optimize them for those keywords.

I have had tremendous success doing this. It takes time but it's well worth it!

I've searched other domains for keywords like that a few times.

It's funny because I use one of the plugins (STT2) that generate those keyword list only I don't allow them to be added to live webpages, just using the plugin for the Wordpress admin keyword list then I optimize SERP positions for keywords as needed.

It's awesome when you land on a heavy traffic domain page with search terms that have the traffic volume turned On showing longtail keywords.

Keep in mind the keyword at the top of a search term list will usually be the highest traffic volume keyword for each page.

Also when you find one keyword list page do a site:domain.com search & you'll most likely find 100s/1,000s more keywords.
