Its hard to believe that you actually want an answer when you post your website with some pretty optimised anchor text.

To get .edu and .gov backlinks you have to scrape the internet looking for open comment sections, article directories ect...

Try to find .org and .gov sites which will allow you to post comment there

Yes, obviously. That is exactly what OP is asking how you do... Except the useless .org backlinks.

        Obvious what?

The question was how to get them.

The answer you're defending was: by trying to get them.

OP If you want useful .edu backlinks, form a university and link to your site from the university's home page. Or, at least, start a .edu site, make it as good as that of a university, link to your pages from its homepage.

Otherwise, don't give them extra anything... The ones you'd get would be from blogs and forums with low power.

They're as good or bad as any other links with similar metrics. The domain extension doesn't help you one bit. The claims you see about this tend to come from scammers, but some people sincerely believe in it.

It's not worth the trouble. Even if the links aren't nofollow they're probably not on a strong page.

Hi SEO Bread, getting a proper dofollow backlink from .edu and .gov blogs can be very difficult. One strategy is to feature some such bloggers in a post of yours, so that they'll link back to you in return out of gratification. For example, you could create a list of 'the best university bloggers', or 'the best students blogs in the U.S' etc. Small recognition awards like these are sure to get attention, and hopefully a backlink.

    Hope it helps

They're not going to be that useful to you, you are better off finding sites with similar content to yours and getting backlinks through them. IF you really want the links, type that same question into google search and you will find some resources with lists of .edu sites that with comment sections.

That's just a bunch of BS. They enjoy no such trust. You should really get your SEO information from someone who's not a .edu/.gov link scammer. Also, it's almost impossible to get a decent link on such a site.

Some government agencies and educational institutions are trusted entities in real life which then translates to them being strong in web too. The explanation is really simple in this case.

good luck with that. the .gov and .edu sites won't post to commercial sites and the ones that have blog posts with do follow comments have mostly been discovered and spammed so they are worthless. not sure what to do for gov and edu...

I tried looking at that answer in a mirror. Did not help.

Your answer is as silly as all of your other spammed replies.

The point of this exercise is to get weak, low-value backlinks that are often nofollow. I have no idea why anyone would bother.

I've gotten .EDU and .GOV links, and it's not from commenting or guest posting.

Don't waste time with comments. They are obviously user-generated, and Google isn't stupid. Also, EDU and GOV sites are never going to publish guest content unless you're a PhD, MD, or otherwise highly accredited (and even then, it's difficult).

Try to find lists of resources / references and hunt for broken links (there's a Chrome extension to make this easier). Then replicate that resource / tool / content on your own site and contact them to update the link.

It's a lot of work, but the profit in this industry goes to those who are willing to do the work.
