Direct Traffic - Good or Bad?

I know this might seem like a newbie question, but do you consider direct traffic to be good or bad? In other words, how can you tell direct traffic to your site real traffic vs. some kind of spam -- especially if the site is newer? Speaking of which, does anyone know of any good plugins that prevent that stuff from showing up in your Google analytics? I've heard of Wordfence as of late but know how what it does.

Thanks,
Joey

    Hey Miguelito,

I'd say direct the traffic to a squeeze page to build a list then once you built a sizable list (couple hundred or so)

Create a social media page like Facebook & Twitter & promote it to your list so they can start interacting with each other.

Then use your social media page & your email list you've built you can promote your site through their so you know you're only getting quality traffic.

This has always worked for me as well as other people I know.

It's a great plan if you stick to it & put in the effort.

Hope this helps maybe something new to think about doing instead?

    Have a great day

Thanks for your response, but that wasn't my question.

If your average session duration is good, like more than 4 or 5 minutes per session, Yes is very good!, but instead if your bounce rate have a higher percentage is bad.

All traffic is good of course, but direct traffic and traffic coming from a search engine are different things. Direct traffic is from when someone directly types in your website URL into their browser or clicks on a bookmark, search engine traffic is when someone searches for something and click on your website in the results.
