What id better for SEO a subdomain or a folder?

Hi, I have a website, is not a CMS or something like that is an own development, but i want to make a blog of that wabsite, what is better for SEO, use a subdomain for the blog, like blog.mydomain.com or use a folder like mydomain.com/blog, i don't know if i explain my self, thanks.

    If the blog is about the website is better the folder, the linkjuice go better, you use a subdomain for another topics of the website.

    The SEO in me still recommends that "All roads should lead to Rome".

    As Ratul so eloquently states in another answer, the "subdirectory is always better than subdomain to reflect hierarchy of content." Hear, hear.

    Google historically has treated each subdomain like a unique domain (and still does with subdomains on Tumblr, Wordpress, Quora, Stackoverflow). If your link juice is pointing to different subdomains, you're diluting the value of that juice among your various domains, rather than focusing the energy on the one true domain which you want to rank well.
