SEO tips needed for new Coupons and deals site

Hey, i recently started a new coupons and deals site in which i post all new discount coupons and best deals from all big retailers online. my sites design is good and its also optimised for mobile phones.


I am planning to promote it through facebook CPM or Probably CPC (anyone which will bring good result)

But can anyone tell me or probably guide me on how to do thing in the correct way i mean to say that how can i get some good backlinks for my site and rank good in Google.

There are lot of big players in this niche and they take all the google traffic.

Probably give me ideas on how to do keyword research and target the best keyword efficintly.

and what can i do to get some initial traffic. I am planning to organise a giveaway or two.. is it a good idea?

    To start off you should find keywords with low competition but make sure that people are spending money on the keyword. You can check this by visiting google adwords and seeing what people are paying per click for that keyword. I would start out with low seach per month keywords as those tend to have less competition.

    you need to be active in some niche forum with signature so people can aware with your site and also you need to comment in some blog which is geting high traffic dont post in all post or thread but only comment where people taking more visit.

    Use Google keyword tool, find a big niche like dating, etc then go search Google keyword tool with "coupon" keyword and search for buyer keyword.. like amazon coupon etc. And do SEO for that.

    Here you've asked two things- 1. How to get a good Google ranking and 2. How to choose the keyword for your online ad campaign.

    1. First of all you should know that SEO takes time. Probably the back links are playing a big role in SEO but, it's not all. Depending on your business category, unique content and reviews are the most important thing to get a better Google search ranking.

    2. According to the my experience, keyword relevancy is the key to success of online advertising campaign. Because, we advertise our business to reach a goal. More relevant ads represents more business conversion. So, only targeting low competitive keywords is not good for business.

    And, lastly- try some Facebook groups (shopping related), to promote your site to get some initial traffic.

    I think the big question is, Did you niche down your coupon site? Because if not, it might be a little bit harder than you expected to kick it off. The big guys are already all over the general coupon categories, sites like groupon, coupondot com and retailmenot already dominate the search engines for keywords relating to many categories, ranging from groceries to webhosting etc.
    I think you should niche down as possible, focus on a category like electronics and computers or something, this way you will get better visibilty in search engines and get visitors easily.

    Forget about all the crappy advice in this thread.

    Here is the truth. You will not compete for search engine traffic unless you have a serious budget to use, so just forget it. You will just spin your tires and waste time and money.

    You should focus entirely on other ways of generating traffic. Depending on what type of coupons, I would probably be considering print media.

    Unfortunately Mike F. got it right. It's probably very hard to compete with the existing players because they're so strong. Unless you can find some kind of niche or angle to the market.

    You can use youtube keyword research tools that you can find your perfect keywords. Optimize your site to make a high authority site not only for search engine ranking and not only for keywords.
