PPC conversion tracking and DLGuard

Hello everyone hope all is well! Let's talk about conversion tracking for PPC and using DLGuard.

Conversion tracking:

Does anyone else have problems with ACCURATE conversion tracking using adwords, yahoo, or msn tracking code? My conversion stats are almost never accurate. Let's say for instance that I get 10 sales on one of my products. Well when I log in to check my stats adwords might tell me I had 6 sales that day or 13 sales that day, it's always under or over but never right on...very frustrating because that screws up the EPC on your keywords! I understand that some people might buy and then not download the product right away but my main concern is when the tracking is OVER the actual sales. This could make a keyword that is in fact not profitable look profitable. Anyone else ahve this issue and has anyone found out how to fix this problem?

DLGuard:

I like DLGuard but one thing that really gets annoying about it is the amount of people that cannot download the product. Everyday I get emails from customers saying something like: "I couldn't download the product" or "I have never had problems downloading something online before until now!"...you get the point. When I go to the link that is sent to them in their email, it works for me every single time so I have no idea why it won't work for others! Anyone else have this issue?

Cheers,

Kevin B.

    Hi Kevin,

Occasionally you can sometimes have people with download issues (for various reasons...usually slow or unstable internet connections), but you shouldn't be getting a high number.

How large are your files? And who is your hosting provider?

These are the two aspects that generally affect download stability, especially for your dial-up or unstable internet connection customers.

    Something that can often help:

Put the files you're offering for download on the same website as DLGuard.

Then in DLGuard, go to the Options menu > Configuration.

Tick the box labelled "Use Large File Support".

Even if your files aren't large, this can sometimes offer better download stability.

Are you offering PDF's, or sound/video files for download? If so, on the Config page, also tick "Force IE To download as attachement".

    I hope this helps!

If you've still got customers having troubles, then if you can open a support ticket over at my site, I'll check it out for you!

    cheers
    Sam
