Hello All,
I'm new to SEO and was wondering if it still a good small business to pursue besides doing my 9-5. I'm undecided if the opportunity is still there and if there are any good training aids or software to help. Thanks in advance. I

Learn to rank your own webpages before you give up your 9-5 job.

Okay thanks for the reply, but I'm not giving up my 9-5. This would be on the side.

Obviously SEO is still profitable but it takes time to learn how to rank a page & keep the page ranked.

As far as training & software, be specific, there's no one size fits all solutions. SEO can go in many different directions (ex: local, global, video, images, reputation management, etc...) depending on which type of clients you target.

Bottom line is the client needs paying customers, that's all they care about.

Id recommend working at it a few hours a week until you got money and a business model following.

First learn about SEO... Make a business plan that you can do keeping your current job and follow through until its making u money.

ya tons of training aids, things u can buy, software (often dubious)

Most of what you need can be found on here and using google search, and a couple of years of playing around with it and trying to succeed.
