On a host, their could be pirates on that host doing things and hosting things on a shared hosting site that could have a knock on effect to yours

Dedicated Hosting gives you more security

As you will not be affected by these sorts of things

See hosting as a A BIG FILE CABINET

Do you want your folder (your site) in and amongst all the other folders

    or

Do you want your folder in a file cabinet with only your folder in it and no one else

He is asking about a dedicated IP, not dedicated hosting

I've tried to use a dedicated IP for each site, but I have had some share, I don't "think" there was a big difference.

I see it as, it couldn't hurt.

The advantage is that if someone on the shared hosting does something bad you might get punished for it if you are on same IP. However the chance is very low that this would happend.

In the other hand dedicated ip cost like $2 a month for your account and maybe that little money is worth it to "secure your business"?

          Hi
I agree with your points, I think Dedicated Ip is not an essential factor for the search engine ranking, there are many other factors too, affecting the SERP.

          Thanks

            Hi,

There is no top priority or something like to have a dedicated IP for websites to get good SERP's. The sites hosted on shared hosting also ranks well.

There are plenty of websites ranked well on search engines with shared IP. as snvservices said, its one of the factor and there are other factors as well to get good SERP

            Hope this will help you.
