My Website is Indexed But Not Showing Up in Google's Search Results!

Hey Everyone,

I launched a brand new website about 10 days ago.

Although Google Webmaster Tools is saying that my sitemap has been indexed, nothing is showing up in Google search for any of my relevant keywords. I am not having any issues with Yahoo or Bing.

I have done a research with site:thinkorea.com and it looks like the website is indexed but when I perform a search for 'thinkorea' nothing is showing up.

There is no manual actions, no error messages and the site is indexed in Google webmaster tools.

Any ideas what the problem could be? I understand that indexing takes time but once the pages are indexed based on my previous experiences launching new sites they showed up in search.

I should also add that I have owned this domain for a few weeks now and I started to add backlinks on other sites I own and also worked on social signals before launching the site. I don't think this should effect anything because i can't imagine why google would black list this site.

Any help?

LINK TO MY SITE: THINKOREA | Look good. Love Korea. Think Korea.

Thank you for your time and help!

Is this gibberish randomly generated? Completely misses the topic, misunderstand the basics of Google Search, and recommends SEO instead of SEO.

OP, your site is new which is probably the reason for poor ranking at this point. See that you have decent backlinks (no, "social signals" don't count).

Yes your site is still very new and thats probably the reason..

Your site seems perfect for social media though and it should get it some great shares, likes etc..

Social Signals are still very important.. They send some really good signals.. I use them for my money sites, for my PBN's, videos and almost everything..

Take a look at the following video.. It should help you understand why Social signals are important or at least open up your mind to how they can be important other then for just thinking about link juice

Still? They've never been important for SEO.

People have been speculating and bollocksing around this topic for couple of years, but there's still no indication that "social signals" actually help in some way.

Look back at his post signature, as that may reveal the reason for his great enthusiasm for social signals.

Yeah, depending on your keyword, it can take a while to get ranking. Also, you need to actively promote your website and if your interested in quicker results, do or pay someone to get the rankings happening faster. Additionally, sometimes when you first create backlinks to your site there will be a drop in you position in the Google, but you usually come back stronger if the links are good

As your website is new just wait you will get better results from google because it takes time to get ranked. Also domain age is important factor.

Well, you should really try to find what the issue is. Your site makes claims about being #1 destination for Korea based merchandise, but I'd hazard a guess that there's some competition in this space too. AFAIK Korea has been sort of popular way before Psy and Gangnam Style so you can't approach the market like there's no competition.

Market and competitor analysis is something you should've done already.

For example, you know that there's a site with the same name ("Think Korea"), right? Even though their niche is different it makes it harder for you to rank even with the word that people probably use to search for your brand. And if the brand name is "Thin Korea" you're going to compete with diets and articles about Koreans being thin.

Have you checked who ranks for the keywords that you want to rank for? Have you checked the competitors' backlink profiles? Majestic and Ahrefs are some of the tools that allow you to spy on them.

The site is so new that even Google doesn't probably have all the backlinks, and 3rd party tools are even slower. However, Majestic shows links from only two sites, and those links are basically useless. Common problem for new sites, but something you need to fix. Backlinks are the popularity votes in Google search, but lousy links get you nowhere.

If the situation remains like this waiting will not help. You need to promote the site, and either find backlink sources yourself or get your fans or followers to link back. You don't get SEO results instantly, but you get no results if you don't do anything.

Thank you for your advice. It looks like it was just a question of time since now the website is appearing in search results for the word 'thinkorea'.

I appreciate your time and help!

Good to hear. Yes, it usually takes a bit for Google to actually rank something.

The next step: rank for some real keyword.

That's an odd thing to wish for. However, "Google sandbox" is a phenomenon that's not proven to exist. A new site not ranking is completely normal, and something you should expect.

It would make no sense to remove some of the links that the site has at the moment.

Resubmit your website link in Google webmaster for indexing. Until and unless Google crawls the complete pages of your website by its software named Robot.txt, your website won't show in the Google search list. Make sure that all your pages are linked to the home page of your website then only your inner pages will get rank in Google easily.

Read the thread. Indexing was never a problem.

You have no clue what robots.txt is, do you?

That's very poor advice for most sites. If you're linking your whole site you're dividing your "link juice" by the number of pages you have. I've never seen a site where all the pages are equally important.

Your site is currently #25 on I Love Korean Boys

  • if you google the website URL and it shows up on google that means it is indexed. Now getting ranked for your chosen keywords is another question.
