Hi guys,

I have a couple questions about ranking on Specific country google and sorry in advance if my english is bad :s.

Is the ranking algorithm different on Google.com vs specific country google? Like google.ca, google.fr, google.co.uk ect..

Why am I ranking #1 for my innerpage and #2 for my homepage Organic and #1 Maps on Google.com and only #3 for my innerpage Organic and #3 maps on Google.ca ? Homepage not ranking.

I know the different is not that big, but on other keywords and pages the difference is much bigger and drive me crazy because I dont care about the google.com ranking since it redirect to google.ca automaticly.

I read a lot about this and did everything suggested to rank on a specific country google.

I have a .com domain not a .ca, but in google webmaster tool I set my location to target Canada and my website is hosted on a canadian server.

I have verified my local business on Google+, I have my canadian address and local phone number on my website and every social media profile I have.

I am listed on every canadian directory/citations, I have like 130 citations in total (US and Canadian) with consitent canadian NAP.

I have a google map embeded on my website, I have a lot of backlink from .CA domains.

this is supposed to be a very easy niche and that's why Im ranked #1 on google.com for a long time. But I cant
get the #1 position on google.ca and this make me crazy because I dont know what to do anymore, I feel like it's useless to build more backlink since Im already crushing google.com, so I have enough power.

On my website I have content that talk about canada and my city, I have outbound links to canadian websites.

On google.ca the website that is above me in #1 position have less citations than me, and the same amount of canadian refering domain as me, maybe even less.

Im trying to understand what is happening but cant figure it out, it's obviously not the power and authority that is missing since im ranking #1 innerpage and #2 homepage organic and #1 maps on google.com.

Im wondering if the local google (specific country google) are slower and take more time to rank and will reflect the google.com ranking after a while
or if it's something else that im missing.

What do you guys think ? Is google.ca, .fr or .co.uk taking in considerations only backlinks from their country and disregard other backlinks?

I also read about Google Datacenter discrepancies but Im not sure what it is and what to check.

And for the people that will tell me that I need to wait and be patient, I started the SEO campaing 8 months ago and I am ranking #1 on Google.com
for 5 months now and #3 on google.ca for 2 months.

I pretty sure people that have experience ranking website on google.ca, google.fr, google.co.uk or any other local google will be able to give some insights on this.

Thank you guys, I hope some of you will be able to help me clear this out.

Try adding a hreflang attribute in the header of the HTML source code, test it on a couple of pages & see how Google responds.

    Code:
    <link rel="alternate" href="http://domain.com" hreflang="en-ca" />

Maybe it will help a little but I dont have a multilingual website, it's only one language.

My point was hreflang="en-ca" is specifically targeting Canada.

Many websites serve users from around the world with content translated or targeted to users in a certain region. Google uses the rel="alternate" hreflang="x" attributes to serve the correct language or regional URL in Search results.

There is no difference in algorithm but if you target a particular country in Google Search Console i.e. Canada in your case, your content will get higher rank in your country but at the same time a lower rank in other countries. This is what we all know but i think this is not your concern but if you are getting lower rank for your keywords in google.ca than google.com then you should use that language tag in your webpage.
