Wikis don't create authority so that's pretty much irrelvant.

Look at the backlink profile for the exact URL of backlink pages that have followed links. Either the backlink page has supporting backlinks or it doesn't. Authority has to come from somewhere.

If the topic of the wiki site is same as yours, and if the backlink is a dofollow backlink then yes, you get an seo boost.

    Otherwise no.

wiki links are crap, if coming from wikipedia then you are GOD, and its not that difficult to get backlink from wikipedia if you dont care about niche and focus on backlink only.

There's no single answer for "wiki links". Wikis are a type of site that's defined by their input method and/or user edited content. Some are ok, most are crap. For example, there's a local wiki-based business directory that's an ok backlink in my book.

Wikipedia links are nofollow so they do not help, at least not much. Also, most of their pages are pretty weak.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.

Wiki links are nothing if your purpose is backlinking but those crappy links that you have said is one of the most reliable information in the web which means Wiki links are meant for the target users and not for the backlinkers.

Wrong. Wikipedia backlinks aren't that strong at all. They are good'ish - but not GOD - no where near in fact.

Wikipedia links are nofollow links. But if you got a link on Wikipedia to your site, you will get a somehow good authority to your domain and some traffic. Remember this Wikipedia is PR 9! A nofollow PR 9 link surely worth something. If you can get them, just get them. This is my advice. More links better than no links!

Does "somehow good authority" mean that it works by magic, and that Google ranks a site even though they say they don't and nobody has provided any decent evidence for it?

Wikipedia is not PR 9. The front page of the English version has PR 8, but most of the site is much weaker than that. Do you really think that you'd get a link on Wikipedia's front page?
