The best wordpress plugin is yoast.Yoast*SEO (formerly known as WordPress SEO by Yoast) is the most complete WordPress SEO plugin that exists today for WordPress.org users. It incorporates everything from a snippet editor*and real time page analysis functionality that helps you optimize your pages content, images titles, meta descriptions and more to XML sitemaps, and loads of optimization options in between.

Yoast will slow your WP site down.

For me, SEO Framework is the best and 1000% times faster and lighter that Yoast and the rest crapola.

There's been some rotten versions and some scenarios in witch it doesn't work properly, but it's not that slow in most cases. Have you actually tried to profile the resource usage across multiple WP and Yoast versions?

Hi. I have been using Yoast as the plugin for Search Engine Optimization and it is something I can proudly share and refer someone to. It just makes your total life when it comes to blog posting an easier thing. The interface and the way functionality has been integrated is fantastic. I have used it for several years and it really produces results. This is good especially if you are doing SEO using blog posts. Just try it and you will have a story to tell.

    Hi there

I have found the most powerful and stable plugin for SEO is definitely Yoast. Integrate perfectly in Wordpress and is easy to use.
You are able to do everything from basic on page optimisation to generating XML sitemaps, editing robots.txt file as well as the htaccess file.

Just keep in mind that the new and most recent update for yoast is version 3 and the dashboard has changed drastically. Its not as user friendly.

Id say check out the previous versions as meta descriptions are easier to use but then also check out the new version 3.

I was quite thrown by the new dashboard so I did a lot of research and wrote a short article on it with some guides and screen shots.

    Hope this helps man

Please don't ever ask this question on a forum ever again, you will trigger half of India to respond.

First things first. All in one and yoast are both great plugins that don't actually improve your ranking, they remove the stupid default behavior of WP that *could* hurt your ranking. This isn't SEO, it's more of an issue with the way wordpress works, it's just not designed to be Google SEO friendly out of the box. There's many different problems that WP creates and I won't go into detail.

Both tools give you the ability to do the following with WP: they allow you to change the <h1> and <title> tags without changing the page address. To be 100% clear, as far as SEO goes, that's all that really matters minus canonical tags and some other minor things that probably effect your ranking by about .0001% along with all of the other "200 ranking factors."

You don't need to use any SEO plugin anymore if you don't want to. SEO plugin gives you the option to write different title tag for your post if you want it different with your blog post. Otherwise, Google will use your blog title as your title tag and will pull excerpt from your blog post as description.

No. Plugins that get no updates should not be used on new WordPress sites. That's asking for trouble. However, NextGEN Gallery is an actively maintained plugin.

The confusion in your post? You tried to steal content from SEW, but didn't even manage to do that.

It's kinda suspicious to casually steal some content, and then drop the name of a premium plugin at the end. Just sayin'.

      NONE,

Because SEO should be included in the theme. Yoast and all other slowdown pageload and they add unsollicited codes to our pages. I remember that Googlebot thought there were a 404 broken link inside a javascript code from Yoast.

It is better to see how titles and description appears and try to do with it. If something is missing add it in a children theme.

That doesn't make any sense. A plugin you have to install is "unsolicited code"? WTF. And they don't "add codes to our pages". That's just a string of complete nonsense.

Yoast SEO, as any other plugin, gets compiled from PHP to bytecode, and the end result is rendered as HTML to the browser.

Originally Posted by marievvv View Post

Are you absolutely sure that Yoast SEO did load some javascript to the actual pages? I don't remember ever seeing this happen, and the plugin has no need to load any javascript.

If the Google bot just randomly indexes your plugin javascripts you've got a misconfigured site in your hands.

Thanks for inserting some sanity to this train wreck of a thread.

What does Yoast SEO do in addition to a well-made theme? On the front end side, not much. If your theme is decent you probably only need a XML sitemap plugin, and even that's optional.

I do like Yoast SEO's title and meta templates, their take on sitemaps, the breadcrumbs functionality, and the feature to turn unnecessary archives off. There's a ton of plugins for two of these, and the last one is just a few lines of code.

I've never seen the content analysis as useful, although one major reason is that it's not really "compatible" with my native language. It's often also pretty deceptive for the newbies. "See, I've done a great job according to this plugin!" Congrats mate, the article you wrote contains the word that you inserted in that box over there. Do you want a medal for that?

yosta plugin is best for getting best performance for your wordpress website.
That's a bit unfortunate choice of words. Performance is not Yoast SEO's strong points even though it's worked fine on my sites. It's still one of the heaviest plugins I consistently use.

Spammers are spamming. If you want to be on topic, maybe you should at least explain what the heck does this crap have to do with WordPress and SEO.

Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?

You can use "All in one SEO pack" or "Yoast" plugin for SEO in WP. Both are good SEO plugins.

Another hands up for Yoast SEO plugin.

I also love the Broken Link Checker plugin, Related Posts, and Google XML Sitemaps plugins for SEO.

For me the winner is still YOAST, why?

1.) Noindex subpages of archives - Very useful feature offered by YOAST
2.) Open Graph Meta Tags - It makes your post content more presentable and clickable on social networking sites.
3.) Google Authorship Management - Easy configuration of Google+ Authorship compare to others.
4.) Permalink Tweaks - Offers genuine and useful URL/Permalink tweaks.
5.) Breadcrumbs - no brainer to setup breadcrumbs.

All in all YOAST offers the most simple user-interface yet its features are simply too good to ignore.
