      Doubtful.

Most forums have nofollow links. End of story.

You say a lot of things that I have no idea where you're coming from, but I guess that's neither here nor there. In particular, though, you seem to have a real disdain for the idea that Google still keeps track of PR *internally* and that PR is still a *huge* part of their algorithms for ranking pages. Correct, Google has not updated the *toolbar* PR for a couple of years. Incorrect that PR does not matter. Us lowly SEO guys now have very little to go on as far as what the PR of any page really is, but rest assured each page does have a PR value, and Google incorporates that PR for determining the worth of backlinks in ranking pages.

Just because we no longer have a somewhat clear idea on PR of pages doesn't mean that somehow everything reverts to "content is all that counts." Google needs to base the worth of a page-keyword relationship on *something*, and there's no reason to think that a big part of that "worth" is not still going to be on the "strength" of a page (PR) and relevancy.

        Huge?
Not according to Google's mouthpiece Matt Katz who have mentioned on a few
occasions mention that "PR" is only one part of 200 different signals used by
SERP Algo, which doesn't look to me as "huge" part.

Well, because it seems like you know everything, would you mind to tell us:
why to keep something, we all agree totally useless and not just delete it?

I can't find now, but I red that Google replaced term PR with term 'referrals'
what you're calling 'page-keyword relationship' but as to the rest, whatever
you're saying above no longer is true, but what Matt was saying is.

If you are getting Do-follow links then it can help you. But it won't be a good idea to rely only on forum profiles. You need to create backlinks through Article, Blog commenting, Web 2.0, etc.
