SEO for finished content

I am a former college professor who has gone through a career change.

I do some technical writing work, but am mostly prepping/training competitive athletes and doing life coaching (mostly relationships). I also teach martial arts.

I have written high quality content for a project push onto the internet.

In terms of copy, it is 85% done. I will eventually be integrating videos of me counseling men on life, relationships, and also videos of me teaching martial arts/bodybuilding.

I am working hard on SEO, but it seems I am "challenged" (a pc term for I am an idiot when it come to computers, lol)

I may be challenged, but I am also very willing to work hard, commit myself to learning the art and science of webmastering.

What type of help should I seek? Is it possible to just purchase SEO services?

I want to learn, and if a coach tells me to do something, I will do it.

I am focused on key words, and also starting to educate myself on backlinks.

Thank you very much.

It sounds like you have an extremely valuable skill set in regards to content generation. I don't consider SEO to be highly technical, but then again, I sent over 1 billion spam emails legally between the ages of 14 and 17, usually utilizing tools I created myself. I would try to engage with organizations that understand your skill set and can work with you, while being completely transparent about how they accomplish their activities.

Most people I talk to tell me I'm a wizard, I never saw it that way, I just pay attention to things that matter to me and keep up on them. You're admitting that you're not very good with current technology, so I would turn that "weakness" into a strength by finding people who are and also have reasonable communication skills.

Sorry I don't have somebody in my address book to recommend.
