What to look in SEO companies?

Hi, I want to know. How to determine whether the company is worth hiring for SEO or not. What kind of company is the real deal and know what they're doing and what kind doesn't. SEO is a fast changing game, so whatever companies which was successful a few years ago might fail to deliver results today. I tried searching at Google but was very skeptical since these companies probably have affiliate programs. I also tried some WSO's here for SEOs but didn't satisfy at all with the results. Please share your opinion. Thanks.

    SEO is not that fast of a changing game.

    The things that change fast is ways to game the system.

    SEO is part of marketing... Find yourself a company that sees it that way...
    Is open about what they do... What they propose makes sense... (I get propositions where they say they'll get me 300 extra visitors a day. I'm in a field where that is not possible... There just aren't enough people searching for what I sell. For instance.)

    Do they have proof that they can get a site to be at least #4 for a keyword like the ones you're going after?

    If they've done it once, they can do it again... Ranking, that is.

    But it's even better if they have happy customers who don't say, Hey, they got me to be #1. Instead, they say, Hey, they got me more sales.

    Because some will get you #1 for keywords no one, or not enough people, search for...

    be always sure to have the portfolio of the company wherever you want to hire them for the services. The best place you will be able to find experts in this area is to look them in agencies such as Upworks. The marketplaces have exams that are used to vet people depending on the skills they have. You will at that point be bale to find the company best for hire through viewing their profiles. people are out to make money and you need to be very careful so that you are not conned your money.

    My suggestion would be to find a company that actually learns about your business. If they say we can get you top rankings for X number of keywords just walk away. If they ask a lot of questions about your business, your target market, your USP and who your major competitors are.

    You see, to do a good job the company needs to be like an extension of your business so they can create good quality content that will benefit your customers and earn you good links and social shares to build your authority the right way.

    Lastly, anyone who is not transparent about what they do, walk away again! The SEO market is so flooded with cowboys who claim to be able to do it all when in reality they will just take your money and deliver little to no result.
