How to Do Content Marketing for Indian Traffic

Hi guys, I have a bollywood online movies website. I am getting some organic traffic for old movies but i am unable to rank new movies to google. Means not much traffic as everyone is looking for new movies on their release. My question is how to do content marketing targeting Indian traffic and how to rank latest movies on 1st page so i can get some handsome traffic.

    It's no wonder you're not ranking. These new releases are pushed by publishers, magazines, movie theaters and prominent movie sites. In a huge country such as India there's going to be a lot of competition. Sorry, I don't have any easy solutions for you.

      Well I am not looking for easy solutions. Something that can help me start with. 3,4 years ago i had similar kind of site and used to rank movies with help of social bookmarking sites. But all those social bookmarking sites are dead now and don't have clue where to get backlinks and how to do content marketing now.

      It's a bit hard to believe that social bookmarking used to rank sites. Well, I guess it's possible especially if there wasn't much competition. However, even if the social bookmarking sites were alive they would probably not help you.

      If your content is good I'd try to find an audience from social bookmarking sites. Yes, I'm saying that you might want to consider other options. Keep doing SEO on the side and try to encourage back linking, but try to find traffic from somewhere else.

        It's a bit hard to believe that social bookmarking used to rank sites.
        It was very common especially with Indian content in 2009-2010. By submitting to 15-20 social bookmarking sites my content used to rank on top within hours.

        However, even if the social bookmarking sites were alive they would probably not help you.

        i am doing on-page SEO with help of Yoast Plugin and it is working great as i am getting 15k/day visitors but these are not good for Indian traffic as they pay very low. Thing i am struggling is with off-page SEO and generating backlinks. I don't know where and how to get backlinks for Indian Traffic.
