All my searches on Google are now geo specific

Hi - When I search for some of my job domains on the Google rankings it now only returns geo results based on my IP. Which is annoying as I used to be able to change the search location - but now I can't. So hard to get a consistent grip of rankings without them being skewed to my particular IP address / location.

Any one understand and can suggest? Thanks.

You would have to use different IP addresses. Find a decent VPN provider and use their IP's in different locations.

Google removed the option to change locations last week.

That might work for large cities but I doubt you'll find an IP for small towns. Any old IP won't give GEO specific results.

No it won't. You are unlikely to find an IP for AnyLittleTown, IN.

If you are just spot checking a national keyword across different areas, you're find. Otherwise, yeah unless it is a major city, you are screwed.

    Thanks thats annoying!
I have always avoided ranking checking software
    How do they work? -
Would software be able to pick up a more relevant and generic ranking? that would give me a consistent guide?

    Thanks all

I tend to simply use HMA VPN to change my location manually and ensure I'm seeing the Serps from the chosen country.
