    It may not make a difference. AGE of domain, keywords, meta tags, relevant content are some of the algorithms search engines use to locate specific asked for results.

    If it is a new site, probably doesn't matter. And, those who have, in the past, tried to game google, have gotten their income slapped by changes like Panda.

    Have relevant content and use time to get generic traffic, or BUY traffic from another source. Most SEO scans the site looking for relevant information...to serve up the best searches.

    Redirects may or may not have an impact, depends on your site and the search engines themselves.

      Why would anyone want to "get generic traffic", or buy traffic? You're essentially getting some random bots or people visiting.

    Ok let make it clear here guys, so i had a wordpress website in the main domain, and since i don't want to remove that wordpress content of my old website (main domain), i created a subdomain to redirect my traffic to the new site !
    For example:
    here is my old site that talks about sport xxx.com
    so i redirected the traffic so when some one goes to xxx.com it redirects them to sub.xxx.com
    is this good or very bad ?

      We understood that you wanted people to be sent from domain.com to subdomain.domain.com.

      We do not know why you're contemplating this, so we can't tell you if it's good or bad.

        The main purpose i'm doing this is because i just want to focus on one niche, the sub domain and the main domain had different niches, the one in the sub domain seems to work, so i just had to redirect and make all the main domain redirect to that sub-domain that is and will be my main niche

          Then, I really don't understand why you want to redirect?

          You can, and visitors will be sent to the subdomain and the redirect will help with the subdomain, from and SEO point of view.

          But there's going to be no more domain pages seen.

          What's the advantage of that?

          You can get SEO help from the domain to the subdomain with links from pages on the domain to the subdomain... That will allow people who land on the domain pages to view them and, maybe, buy.

          Even if it's not doing great, if you get a sale or two, leave it in place and create backlinks...
