So i recently turned 18 and went out and got myself a visa electron card and I plan on putting 50$ on it.

But there are some questions I'd like answered before i start anything.

I did some keyword research and I think I've found a perfect one for me,it's a long-tail keyword with 500 monthly searches, and it of course peaked in November at 1000.
I'm very sad that I missed Black Friday, but i wasn't 18 at that time so there was no way for me to get a credit card.

The keyword literally has one competitor, and it's not even a direct one for the keyword,it just happens to be first ,the second result on google is a reddit question and the third one is a buzzfeed comic article.
How hard would it be for me to rank first or second on google?
I've been reading up on SEO for the past week and have been trying to learn as much before i get my credit card ( 10 work days).

The second question I have is if this niche big enough?

I estimate that at 6% Amazon Afiiliate refferal rate i would be earning around 7$ per sale, although it could wary wildly upwards and downwards.
But i do not know what an average conversion rate would be,so if anyone can tell me that would be nice.

7$ might not sound like a lot to most of you,but 200$ per month is my goal, since that is basically what my mother makes per month and that money would really help her out.

Of course I'm not fooling myself in thinking that keyword with that many searches could make 200$ a month,my goal would be around 30-50$ ideally.
Is that achievable?

This was on top of my head at the moment I was typing this,I will update with questions as I remember them.

Cheers.

Besides keywords, you should spend some time building a list and work on your salespage too

To be honest you don't even need to be number 1 in google to have lots of natural traffic. The top 4 or 5 will usually work just as well and Mark Joyner always used to say that actually being #1 wasn't actually the best but position 2 or 3 was more advantagous.

There is something about #1 that people tend to ignore, its a physcological thing.

Just make sure that the title on the page and the page name are the key word that you want, and that you mention parts of the keyword on the page only about 2 or 3 times (so that the google bots don't think you are spamming) and you should rank well.

Well I guess you don't need to be at the top to get organic traffic, but with a keyword that has 500 searches per month,I think you better be top 3 or you are not getting any significant traffic.
And from what I've read 65% of the traffic goes to the first result, and the rest is split between the other three.

So that takes me back to the question,is the niche big enough?

The domain i will register is literally the whole long-tail keyword.

I'm worried about overusing it though, but i guess i'll find out how much is too much as time goes on.

Very easy. You just add the keywords in the title and somewhere on your page and google will find it. You don't have to dedicate a domain to it but it couldn't hurt.

    Good luck.

The best way to rank mate is to provide massive value.

Do content marketing including writting posts, social engagements, & youtube video marketing.

It will be difficult to rank but if its as slim competition as you say then it shouldn't be if you buy the right domain name.

Still tho you want to give people a reason to buy thru your link & that reason can be that you write awesome articles, do great videos, & are engaging on social media Cheers & Good luck!

Well what i planned on doing is making a calculator/guide on the page.
After typing in the info the calculator spits out amazon products appropriately.
There is literally nothing like this on the internet.
There is a forum post with the formula i will be using for the calculator but its buried really deep(like 3rd page google.)

I do not know how to code so that could be a problem,I will see what i can do.
I'll probably be making a youtube video too.

      Thanks for the advice man,

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
