Can we trust ahrefs reports?

I recently borrowed an ahrefs account from my friend to do some research on my site backlinks. But after hours of researching, I feel that I can't believe this site reports.

For example: I have uploaded a video about a project on my Youtube account and put a link on the description field. Why didn't ahrefs include this link in the report?

I also have a lot of blog sites like wordpress, blogger, livejournal, etc. Have links to point to my site too. Why didn't they even appear in the ahrefs report?

I'm trying to enumerate just a few. There's a lot more of sites I work on don't appear in the report, especially top sites on alexa ranks. Hope you guys will help me figure out. And if you don't use ahrefs, what site do you use?

Please help me out. I'm feeling lost after seeing this report, don't know exactly what best sites to work on.

The 3rd party link scrapers are small fry compared to the bazillion webpages on the web. These link scrapers also don't update daily/weekly so don't expect miracles.

Ahrefs is usually helpful for finding backlinks but If you want a bigger picture of a link profile you'll need to have multiple sources of backlink scrapers (ex: Ahrefs, Majestic, Spyglass, Openlinkprofiler, etc...). Still, you'll never have all your backlinks handed to you, it's just impossible, the web changes every second of the day.

ahrefs is still accurate to detect backlinks. Yukon is right, you have to go through diffrent backlink scrappers for complete picture. Google webmaster can also be used to see backlinks but its not that much accurate.

Ahref report are fully trusted. Maybe your backlink not indexed or show your backlink within a few day.

You can trust ahrefs. The problem is that, each SEO analytic tool has their own crawler, and most of them update their index once in a month. Also they are not as powerful as Google Crawler. So not all of your backlinks will be shown on any tool.

If you want to check your own site's backlinks, why don't you try Google search console. You will fine better picture there.

I do check my backlinks in many different tools provided by other website. And yukon is right, not any single SEO checker or Backlinks report site provide the full backlinks info of my site. Now I can strongly believe that ahrefs just cover a very small number of backlinks we do.
