What are the benefits of an Https enabled domain!?

Well, the question is the same as the title. I wanna know what exactly are the benefits of an https (SSL) enabled website? Please explain them in an easy and understandable matter. Thanks!

      ...and by first he means If a site has two duplicate pages on the same domain (http + https pages with the same content).

      So don't have duplicate pages which was SEO 101 years ago.

      Only having http pages on a site doesn't change anything, pages still index all day long.
