Creating a niche website 2016

Hi Everyone

I have been researching on creating micro niche and niche websites lately searching for low competition keywords and I think I have finally found a one with a decent number of monthly searches around 4000 which are likely to increase in the future because of the nature of the niche.

I have searched the Keyword in Google and two of the top 3 results are from reditt and a wordpress.com domain and they don't have the keyword in the URL and meta description. I think a better meta description a good URL a little bit of hard word might help me climb up to the number 2 spot. The only real problem that I have is that the search term is people searching for a specific product to download which is not originally free but the first page of Google shows you a number of sites where you can download it for free so all I have to do is download the free product, upload it to my website optimize the website for the keyword and rank higher than the others who are offering it right now.

So my question, is it acceptable ? can I get in to trouble for creating a website for the sole purpose of allowing people to download the product for free I mean there are other people who are offering it as a free download but they don't have a website for this sole purpose as I mentioned earlier two of the top 3 results are a wordpress.com subdomain and from reditt.

Secondly I have been away from blogging and SEO for the past year or so could you guys update me on what's new updates has Google rolled out and advice on how should I start on with the new website.

I know this is my first post here and a little long but I don't want to waste any time this year. Looking forward to your opinion.

You're not going to rank a page based on having the keyword in the URL or meta description. It's never going to happen so forget that idea.

A well structured URL is good to have for connecting parent/child subject relevancy but it doesn't have the authority you'll find in strong followed inbound links. You still have to have the strong backlink profile.

Meta description is not a ranking factor in any sort of way, it's useless.

Do Not focus on a single keyword, do the research & find additional relevant keywords to the main keyword you want to target on Google SERPs. Focusing on a single keyword is a classic IM fail, what will happen is you'll eventually want to expand the site to target more keywords (you can never have too much traffic).

Look into how SEO silos work & use site structure to your advantage (SEO silo site structure screenshot below).

As far as the downloadable content, you already know the answer. If the content isn't free & you're giving it away for free you're stealing the content. Think before you get yourself in trouble.

I know I am not going to rank a page only based on the URL and that the meta description is not a ranking factor. The reason I mentioned meta description earlier is because the current websites that rank at the top for the keyword don't clearly state that the file is available for download and even if somehow I managed to climb to the first page of Google search results lets say number 5 and my meta description clearly stated that the file is available for download then I would have a higher chance of clicking on my website instead of others.

I have been doing my fair share of research recently and been searching for low competition keywords using the Google Keyword planner for keyword search frequency and moz bar extension to check the top ranking domains page authority and domain authority. I plan on buying a keyword research tool soon I am not sure yet which one may Long Tail Pro. I will start a new thread for that.

As for getting in trouble for giving away the file for free download what if I had an WhoisGuard on the domain which they offer at Namecheap my contact information wont be publicly visible. I know if someone reported my site to the web hosting they might take my website down.

Thank you for including an image for explaining the SILO structure but I read somewhere that the homepage should contain the Main Keyword where as your image a Silo parent page with the main keyword. Is it an variation of SILO structured website or did I misunderstood what I read about SILO's in the first place.

Lastly it would be great if you could tell me if niche website worked in 2015 and if you think they might still work in 2016. I read that Google favors brands today but you need to start somewhere so start small and grow your small niche website in to an authority site over time.

I know that won't be easy at least doing it alone won't be easy that's why I plan to invest some money in it which includes paying for the content of the website, paying for backlinks and small SEO jobs probably on Fiverr. I can create the website myself as I have enough experience with setting up blogs and websites.Right now I am focusing all my efforts on keyword research I plan on finding a bunch and starting at least a couple of website by the end of the month.

        Hello,
I suggest you to write 20 articles with different keywords. Don't bet on 1 unique page. I personally have 200 micro niche sites but 2015 has nothing to do with 2010/2012. You can't get traffic with only one page. You have to multiple your chances with multiple article...even if you promote only one product.

About backlink, don't pay a guy on fiverr. You should do it yourself . Get few backlinks from forums post and buy 4/5 good links to a fiverr guy who own quality websites.

Also, open a FB pages and get +100 fans and share multiple article + your articles.

        Ben

You're looking for someone to justify you stealing content/files which is lame.

Do whatever you want, I don't care.

In the past few days I have learnt that websites that are less than 5 pages won't do much good today. I intend to create websites which are at least 20+ pages. Have all the content written from someone else and post one every other day. Showing Google that my content new website is being updated with fresh content.

I know creating backlinks myself would be the best way but I don't have enough time to do the research and create backlinks myself. I have been reading several case studies such as the one at cloudincome.com where he outsourced most of the work, made plenty of profit and only invested less than $300. But so far I have learnt that in order to keep your costs minimal you need to spend most of your time finding some good keywords that are easy to rank for and that is where I spend most of my free time these days.

I think you are right stealing content is lame and I don't want to start off with something like stealing files. I should start on the right path. Do you have any suggestions on buying backlinks and getting quality articles written cheap right am I am thinking of using fiverr for both.

Plus there are offering thousands of backlinks just for five dollars and claiming that they are Panda and Penguin safe but are they are really safe ? and is buying so many backlinks in the first few months of establishing a website safe ?

I usually have robots.txt disallow all robots until the site is 20 pages or more.

20 pages sites? Whoa-boy?! I can get that outsourced in a day or two and I'm not using some super secret service here.

I always manually edit all content I buy, I've never purchased content I was 100% happy with under 15/cents word.

Sure, don't buy backlinks unless you know exactly what you're doing. I don't typically buy a link unless I know what it's worth to me. How you figure that out? Sorry, it's just personal experience.

I think fiverr is not a good solution to either problem here.

Look: websites are businesses, the return on your time/money will be a function of your investment. So if you want to make money, you're going to have to invest heavily into one or the other.

I know 20 pages is not a lot but I have read that heavily investing on a website from the start is not a good approach. Invest a little sum of money outsource around 20-30 pages and post one article every other day and see how the site performs in the first few months. If it performs then invest more in it.

If you don't recommend fiverr than where do you outsource your content ? and where do you buy backlinks ?
