New to adsense, but familiar with wordpress. Why would you use a plugin for adsense ads and not just place in the html for the post or the page? I'm sure there is some obvious reason that I'm just missing, but your input would be greatly appreciated.

Mainly time and if you use any kind of autogenerated content, it's the only way to plug your ads to posts without doing it yourself, which totally defeats the purpose.

Yes, I didn't think about that when you use autogenerated content. If you don't, is there any drawback or issue with simply adding it to the html code of the post or page?

No drawbacks that I've ever noticed. With that said, to save you a little time, try to find an optimized theme at some point to experiment. Most folks will alter the php in one location and then every new post or page already has your ad code there.

I'm all for anything that saves time.

The extra time is a drawback. I ask, because sometimes I want the ads to appear in different spots in different posts or pages, and this seems to be the easiest way to do this. Thanks for all of the feedback.

  • Lets say you test your site and realize that Adsense is not working. How are you going to remove all those ads you placed manually?

How about testing different color changes, sizes, etc.?

Thanks guys, this is why I come here to ask questions. Sometimes you get blind to the obvious and need a fresh perspective. Greatly appreciated.
