        Authority- Is the content useful enough to link to or do other authoritative sites use that website as a reference or cite the information that’s available?

    Doing the above is good, you also want to silo your content on your website. It is a good idea to plan out how you site will be connected, what each page on the site will be about, then building links inside of these pages to connect them.

    Then as you start to add blog posts, you build connections from them to the main pages on your website.

    Watch your Google Analytics. See what pages are pulling people to your website, how long they are staying on those pages and what pages they go to after that.

    Then start adding more links to those pages to increase the authority of them.

      Nicely explained! by @Richard, but in addition to all you must take time to spying on competitors promotion strategy, like their backlinks, social media presense, use of keyword in website, their content marketing strategy on various blogging platforms, are also important things need to consider.

    New website needs some time to get ranked in different search engine as the website needs to be indexed on Google first. ON Page of a website must be managed well so that it can be ranked easily. Remember, Google algorithm doesn't allow your website to get any rank in Google if your ON Page is not according to it.

    Other than that the content used on the website must be fresh and unique. It matters a lot while publishing or promoting it in different sites through a technique named SEO, SMM, SEM etc.

    I will just say to you: It's not always what you do to rank your website, many times it's HOW you're doing it...Also remember while a website authority has some influence on rankings, it is webpages that get ranked in the first place not a website...

    1. Onpage SEO :

    ==> Title tag
    ==> Meta description
    ==> Meta Keywords
    ==> img als tag

    Off Page SEO :

    • Organic Links – These are links you don’t have to ask for, and they are the best kind. Especially if you can get them on sites with high authority such as major news outlets and other well-recognized name websites.
    • Whitehat – This basically stands for good, quality link building (the kind you should strive for).
    • Blackhat – This stands for spammy, low-quality link building (the kind you should avoid).
