Hello all!
Can anyone suggest what metrics should I follow to judge a good or bad back-link?

Say;
Moz trust > xx
TF>> xx
CF>>xx
ETC.

    MOZ is good. I have used that for my website SEO and that is really a good application.

    Actually you cant judge it with any tool, or I can without having a manual look. Here are few of the factors you can consider.

    => Relevancy
    => Natural looking
    => DA
    => PA
    => TF

    I suggest to focus on DA, PA and TF only when natural looks give a positive impression.

    If you use any of these metrics to classify bad links, you are going to end up classifying a lot of good links as bad links.

    In 2016, should this not be a no-brainer?

    I mean, seriously...the day I need anything to find out if
    a link is bad or good, just shoot me. I'm too far gone.

    Besides, good does not mean it actually helps.
    Bad does not mean it hurts.

    A bad link could just be a worthless link.

    I don't go for worthless links, and most assuredly
    could tell if something was worthless.

    A link having a small amount of value would
    still be in the good link column, but not
    necessarily worth filling your day with.

    It should not take a rocket scientist SEO to
    tell.

    It's actually simple. If the link doesn't increase any rankings, doesn't bring in visitors or benefit you at all. It's safe to say that link is bad.

      I disagree. Those links are not bad, they're just worthless. And almost every site is going to have these links no matter what you try (or don't). There's no need to react to a link that doesn't affect anything.

      If you don't use any metrics how do you know what to do? You should not treat metrics as a word of Google, but just someone's take on the value of a page. Even if the date is incomplete it's much better to have something than to act blindly.

        I agree with you. Suppose I gained 20 links but my rankings haven't change then it doesn't mean that the links are bad for my site. It means that they are not passing any link juice.

        No matter what metrics you use to identify your links they are not going to sort the bad and good ones. You have to do it on your own.
