Anywhere from about $15 to $125 per article. Depends on the niche and content needed.

Geez mike $125? How many words does that get you? Must be some quality content! If i don't write the content myself i pay roughly $10 - $50 for content.

It really depends what niche, if you're in health or legal and you're paying 10$ per 500 words, I doubt that will do you any good at all. To be clear about this: content that is posted to media sites costs a lot more then that, they have inhouse writers getting 70k+ a year who write a handful of articles a month.

This is what I typically do: if it's a niche site and I'm unfamiliar with the niche in the sense that I have no actual experience working in it, I will outsource to the writing services and get 4star/elite writers to write me copies which I use as roughs. This costs 10-15$ per page but I put quite a bit of effort into them. My biggest tip here would be: do not rewrite the article, just try your best to fix it and potentially add length to it. If the niche turns out to be hot, well it's still easier to expand/improve content you already have then it is to start fresh.

I love to do the pomodoro time management technique, so one 25 minute round per rough to "fix it", sometimes a round before hand for research, then another for editing, and possibly an additional round or two for image creation (or fiverr.) Sometimes I pay editors, sometimes I don't. I try get 20 research keywords in a round and 20 ideas for articles in a round (tough.)

Once I'm familiar with the niche I just figure out what I feel a new post is worth, typically between 50-150$ and I just source it to a decent writer on freelancer/upwork, or wait for a top tier writer on one of the writing services.

I really do love the pomodoro technique, it gives you some balance in life and it's very easy for me to get motivated to work hard for 25 minutes and then go stare at youtube for 5 minutes (or post here.) To get motivated to work on starting a new 100 page site that I know is going to take 250-500+ hours, well that's hard, I usually procrastinate badly and can't get moving with it until I break it up. It really works well if you have multiple sites, since I could technically do 20+ rounds each on a different site. Also another tip: you can have a round be dedicated to analytics/conversions. This prevents you from staring at your conversions for 2-3 hours, which I think everybody has done. If I have a problem editing CSS or working with a theme, if I get to the end of the round and realize I have accomplished nothing, the very next round I spend finding somebody to source it to. I can't spend 6 hours getting a theme to "look right."

That's the tool I use, I sit down, fill the box out, take a deep breath, clear my head, press go, and then go insane for 25 min. I was very surprised how much more I was getting done, it's like riding an exercise bike, sure after 15-20 min it gets hard, but the end is in site so just keep pushing. If you hype yourself up a bit, you can get into that zone where you just go. I feel like it's how I used to write papers in high school/college, "oh crap, I have a paper due tomorrow and it's 1am and I have not started yet."

If you are a procrastinator, this technique is amazing. Let's be realistic, the main reason you procrastinate is because you don't want to do it, but 25 minutes of work isn't much. It becomes like a little game, where you can keep pushing yourself.

Thanks for your detailed view. I pay between $15 to $60 per 1000 words articles. The price depends on various factors such as niche, content type, length etc.
