Does Upwork have a monopoly on SEOers?

Where does someone go to find outsourcers other then UpWork (that charge the same kinds of rates e.g. $4/hour up to $10/hour?) Seems that everybody merged into a monopoly and I can't find any alternative sources. Anybody here good at SEO (I'm certainly not?)

    It's not a monopoly, just another freelancer site. There's a bunch of them around.

    A SEO on this forum recently said that he asks for $150 per hour. It's a reasonable rate in western world and B2B consulting. You can certainly find alternatives, but if you're looking to pay up to $10/h these sites are probably your best bet.

      Could you please give me some ideas for sites to go to...there's no more VWorker...no more Elance...so far all I see is UpWork and I guess, Freelancer. Also the the SEO work can't always be better when done by a Westerner...so the challenge is knowing who is better then who...

        Really, $4 an hour?

        Subtract the outsource site fee plus tax & you're looking at $2.70 an hour. That won't even buy a thatch roof hut on the Serengeti.

        You will get exactly one button push junk link blast from your $4 3rd world gig. You can call it SEO but it's not SEO.

        My advice is save your money, learn SEO & rank pages yourself.

            Get a custom quote & base the price on the work being done. There's a million and one things that could be considered SEO.

            Personally I would start at $100 per hour for SEO consulting, not that I'm interested in more work.

            If you think that amount is high, look around, Bruce Clay charges $800 per page for only on-page SEO which doesn't mean the page will rank on the SERPs because that price doesn't include backlinks. Backlinks would be an added expense.

            You need to understand that an SEO will not eat the cost/expense of ranking your page. The cost falls back on the client because it's the clients project. My point is nobody is ranking pages for $4 or whatever ridiculously low dollar amount because it's literally impossible for an SEO provider to make a profit. There's plenty of people that will gladly take your $4 but you're not ranking anything for that amount.

            If you're serious about ranking pages you need to be realistic.
