How Any Udemy Course for $1 only ?

Udemy allows the author of each course to make the price whatever they want whenever they want as often as they want. They can even use coupon codes to allow the product to be free.

They do this to inflate the purchase numbers with fake data, so 1,000 traffic could get the course for free, next the author raises the price to whatever they want so when the unsuspecting buyer traffic shows up on the sales page it looks like the course is very popular when in reality the traffic numbers are all bogus because people will take anything that's free.

So..., 1,000 free users looks like 1,000 buyers when the author turns on the price. Example, say the udemy course cost $59 the real buyers will think the course profited $59,000 when in reality the profit could easily be $0 because of a free coupon.

The real scheme is udemy allows both free coupons & paid versions of the exact same course so the author can run a nonstop campaign somewhere on the net funneling free users back to the sales page so it looks like they're always getting sales even without getting sales. The poor bastage with a credit card gets spoon fed fake user data.

The way udemy is setup is a total scheme for buyers.

The screenshots below are the exact same udemy sales page both campaigns running at the same time. Jacking up data/numbers. Udemy creates multiple URLs for the same sales page so buyers don't realize the same course also has a free coupon code.

Yukon: Thanks for the insight. Yeah I wish Udemy wouldn't count users that took a course for free as part of the main stats shown to the public. The same should go for the reviews.

Obviously the reason it does is because of income. More people "fooled" equals more buyers and more commissions.

Ethical or not, it still gets done.

Udemy's business model is to sell cheap courses that are always shown to be discounted from much higher prices.

Basically instead of saying "here's a $10 course for $10" they say "here's a $200 course for $10".

Psychologically it makes you think what you are getting is more valuable.

Similar to how retail stores like Sears always have most of their inventory "on sale" all year round.

Udemy Course for only $1 is because thats the exact value of it most "tutorials" are bare bones and noobish as fuk

From a legal point of view, you could actually sue them as a product has to be advertised for at least 28 days before they can cross off the original price and offer a discounted rate. But who wants to sue someone who offers a course for free ;-).
