I am thinking to buy a .club domain for my next project.. Is it seo friendly? I couldn't find any suitable .com or .net domain for that name.

I think it would be best if the search term you are targeting has "club" in it.

To answer your question, having a .club extension will not have any negative impact on SEO.

Yes any of the new/generic tlds that are not geo-targeted are completely fine and just as good as a .com for ranking in google- including .xyz, .us, .club, .tv, etc.

Just to be clear. So your saying if i want to use one of those new TLDs such as "Colorado.fitness" it wont rank well?

No, what he said is the exact opposite of that.

If you're trying to target a country (outside the US) it's a good idea to use the country extension if that's available to you. "Not geo-targeted" means the kind of generic domains, and some country domains that are not used for that country any more. Here's Google's list. (Click "More about domain determination" in the bottom of the page.)
