Rebuilding an expired domain with traffic

Hello all I recently won a godaddy auction for a domain that has been valued up to 2M on worthofweb. The domain has some age on it, 19 years to be exact. The thing about it is that the site has been parked on godaddy for some while. My question is what do I do with it now? When I get an estibot valuation it reads 1200 but when i get a website value it reads anywhere from 100K to 2M. I am scared to do anything with it because I don't want to mess up the SEO it already has. Should I try and recreate the website as it was before? Help!

First of all, those tools are worthless.

Should you be worried about putting up a site? No.

Should you be worried about copyright infringement? Yes. You can recreate the URL structure exactly if you want to, but it should be completely new, unique content.

What to do with it? Well stop being scared... Put up a respectable website and try to make money from it. You're not going to mess up the SEO, the links are already there.

  • hire someone to build you a nice website. slap some content on it. get it ranked. put some adsense on it. once you start making some money sell it.

    cut me that check

Great input guys! Irawr- thanks for the advice about not being scared. I need to just jump on this and take things one step at a time. Totalwebsitecontrol- That is exactly what I plan to do, I just want to make sure to do it the right way.

To both of you- Should I recreate the url structure the exact same as it was before? I will definitely use my own unique content, but im curious about the url structure.
