Do these seo plugins need to be activated at all times?

I had only 5 plugins installed, and my site speed up some when I disabled them, according to Google PageSpeed Insights. And two of the plugins are SEO plugins (yoast seo, and seo smart links). Just wondering if I need these plugins activated at all times, or just when I'm creating a post?

And what about TinyMCE Advanced, which I believe I used to change my fonts. Can you just activate it when you're using it to create a new post, and then deactivate it when you're done, or do you have to leave it activated at all times?

    Use only one SEO plugin at a time. Not sure abt TinyMCE though

    Don't use 2 seo plugins. I use all in one SEO the most because it has some great additional tools. Keep it live at all times though.
    For a good caching plugin to improve page speed use WP Fastest Cache.

    What do they do? If you only have one all-around SEO plugin you can have plugins that do some other stuff. You just shouldn't run another basic SEO plugin at the same time. Don't be fooled by the alarmists here.

    Yoast SEO is quite a heavy plugin, but if you want it to optimize the pages you've got to keep it on. There's other alternatives to Yoast, tho.

    I can't remember seeing this one in P3 Plugin Profiler (wink, wink) even though I've got it installed in many sites. It should really affect just the admin site.

    Changing fonts this way is a bad idea BTW. If you ever want to redesign you've got to strip the custom fonts manually from the content. However, it's better to use suboptimal markup than not publishing.

    If your site is slow with only 5 plugins there might be something else that's wrong with the site. Try also Pingdom's speed test to see if some resources load slowly.

    SEO Smart Links seems to look for places in your posts where you could have a link linking to a related post and it automatically adds the link for you. It's for automatic internal linking which I don't think Yoast SEO can do. Which is why I had both. I didn't realize I couldn't use them both at the same time.

    I am currently using WP Fastest Cache actually, but I've tried a few different caching plugins, none-of-which seem to help me with my problem. I only used one of them at a time though.

    How should I change them then? For some silly reason, Wordpress doesn't have the option to change the fonts type and size. I just wanted to change all my text to Arial 12 font, but couldn't without such a plugin. Something that simple, you would think would already be an option in Wordpress, but nope.

    Indeed, I found out last night with WebPageTest.org that my Time To First Bite (TTFB) is taking too long - more than 3 seconds almost every time I test it, giving me an F score for TTFB. And it doesn't matter if I pause my CDN (CloudFlare) or deactivate my WP Fastest Cache. From my research online it sounds like my web host might have me on an overloaded server. I've had this slow loading probably since I created my site a few months ago. Anybody know if that's the only thing that could cause a high TTFB?

    According to Google Page Speed Insights, those five plugin did slow my site down some, but I think this high TTFB is slowing down my load speed the most.

    all you really need is yoast seo plugin and yes it needs to be enabled for it to work.
