Calling all SEO's. I have a baffling case which Im hoping someone can help with.

My site: https://www.domesticflights-southafr...mango-airlines is being outranked by a competitor Mango : prices, timetables, schedules and flight bookings Mango - SkyBudJet for the keyword "mango airlines".

I dont understand why a page.site with such thin content is able to outrank my page/site. My content is industry relevant, factual and solid. My competitor actually has little or no relevant content. To addon the backlinks are weak and small in number.

So, is Google really not practising what they preach or do I need to go back to SEO school.

Your competitor does not have thin content; it has less content than you.

You keyword stuff; they do not.

I did not look at the backlinks... It might be one good link more than you.

It might be that since you're keyword stuffing and Google's decided to not let you go to the top.

Mostly, look at the backlinks they have and compare to what you have... (include internal links).

LMAO at OP keyword stuffing anchor-text like a mofo & complaining about the competition.

    OP, check this article: https://moz.com/learn/seo/on-page-factors

Then dial yours back to a balance between what you learn there, and what you were trying to do.

You'll at least have an easier time trying to overtake your competition. You're still going to need more links, though.

Analyze first your site. If you think that you are being outranked then there is something you need to improve on your end. Comparing and complaining will not do you anything good. Instead use it as a motivation to improve your overall SEO efforts.
