Hi, I am building backlinks to my website. Should I have both dofollow and nofollow backlinks. some people say that to look natural in google it is more better to have both types of links. but if google will not see the nofollow, why it is important to have. (regardless of its importance to get traffic). thanks.

    Hi,

It certainly won't do any harm. I would recommend blog posting on blogs relating to your niche that have nofollow links on them. This will still benefit you as it will generate organic traffic.

    Kind regards,

Outside of a few Wikipedia links (which were for traffic), I have never purposely built a nofollow link. It's a dumb idea to waste time building them.

It's important to not focus exclusively on accumulating dofollow links as this will over time appear unnatural to Google.

I guarantee Google does know about "nofollow" links. They simply mean that they won't pass any of that sites "link juice" to your site.

But that does not mean Google won't literally follow that nofollow link and crawl your website, just won't pass on any juice to your website.

Which, then, begs the question: why would you build them for SEO purposes?

Nofollow links ARE seen by Google. However it won't pass any link juice to your site. So they will not have any seo benefits.

I don't think you should waste your time building Nofollow links just so that it looks natural to Google. However if these links give you some direct traffic then why not?
Like Mike said from Wikipedia, your social media profiles. Q&A sites like Quora.

For me I think if the nofollow link comes from big authority website, It will matter. since you will get lots of traffic from that site alone. and you may expect some people to share your site again, so this way you are getting some new backlinks.

Some sites are not allow to dofollow links, so it is better to use nofollow links rather than use of no links. Nofollow links are also helps to increase traffic.

You're selling bird cages on an SEO forum (useless irrelevant nofollow forum sig).

    Sure, that's natural.

        You're welcome.

Here it is again & you still didn't sell a bird cage.

        How's that working out?

LOL, you are talking so much on a tiny thing. I know this indeed SEO and marketing forum. but for the reason that I only have a site about bird cages I liked to add it as my signature.

Actually, when I first registered with this forum I had a website about online selling and marketing and I sold it about 3 months ago.

Now I'm working on the new website, so why not replacing the old signature.

Again, people who love SEO and marketing may also love many other things including birds.

          thanks all

Most SEOs/Marketers want this while they sit there and write posts/books/blogs/ads/emails.

Me personally, I can't have pets. I can't even remember to water my plants. :Looks at plants that are half dead: shit...

Well, According to me, Mixture of Nofollow and Dofollow links makes things look natural to Google. So, always focus on having mixture.

According to you, I get. But why? How did you come to this conclusion? What tests have you run?

What's natural about having a bunch of sites tell Google they don't trust your site? (That's what a nofollow link tells Google.)

definitely, you have to build backlinks more to promote your website
backlink is the standard to access your site
if you have many backlinks, your site will have higher position on google

Do-follow and No-follow both the links are helpful to get ranking better as well as getting traffic.

The main difference is No-follow links didn't pass link Juice to your Your website.

You just totally contradicted yourself. How are they both "helpful to get better ranking" when nofollow links "didn't pass link Juice"?
