Everybody seems to have 13.000.000 Backlinks today.

Hi guys,
it is a little annoying to see that every simple WP blog seems to have 13.000.000 to 28.000.000 backlinks today. Has this whole system gone totally crazy? Is Google sleeping all day long or what is going on there?
Is this simply Xrumor stuff? It seems pretty clear to me that this can´t be natural backlinking in every world you can think of.
The real bizarre part is this:
If I analyze such a site with MS it sometimes shows only 4 PR 0 backlinks, whereas there seem to be 28.000.000 Yahoo backlinks.
Again, what is going on there? What should this be useful for?
If this is just a trick, hell why should one stop there? The next guy will answer with 56.000.000 backlinks or what?
