Which is better video or image?

I have enough space on my inner pages for both a video and image, since I am in pc repair, I am thinking of using both an instructional video for each service page and also an image [just to spice up the page]. Would this be counter productive for google? If not and will be ok, can I use the same meta info for both video and image?

If I have to choose only one, which would be better, video or image please?
#image #video

If the image is unique it may get indexed and linked to your site by Google. Not sure about the video

Neither the videos nor pics will be unique. So if they will not get indexed and serve no SEO purpose, wouldn't it still be at least worthwhile if even for the visitor's sake?

Video is much better in terms of SEO. There are two reasons to use videos instead of images:

1 - Videos decreases the bounce rate.
2 - Helps in increasing rankings.

If your video is interesting, people will watch it till end which will decrease the bounce rate of your page and website which is a positive sign. Although images also decrease bounce rate if used correctly.

I will suggest you to use videos. Moreover you can put transcription below your video which will be better for your on-page SEO.

Thanks but any reason not to use one video and one image per page?

When you say 'put transcription below your video', this is video I just had made for my new theme here: Affordable Computer Repair Services NYC | PcandNetServices

and this is a screenshot of the meta info I have put into that YT video:

Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

Would that meta info be sufficient or are you referring to something else please?

I am talking about the transcript of video. A transcript is a text version of all of the words spoken in your video.

Meta description is good for video when you're using your video on only YouTube and not embedding it on your blog. When I embed my video on my blog, I also share transcript of that video as well. This improves on-page SEO.

Use both, make the meta data unique.
YT videos may help with faster indexing.

I appreciate you want to get things right, but stop worrying so much about Google, you are overthinking minor stuff too much

That is a very accurate statement and story of my life. I am a pc repair tech and it's in my DNA to be very detailed and it's not something I can turn off unfortunately so please bear with my questions?

Also, aside from wanting to get things right, I want to be 100% sure that I fully understand what you guys are teaching me.

Image and video, both have their own importance in web marketing. But video is one step ahead because marketing through video explains about your product/service with more clarity and complete satisfaction for your customers.

      Yep.

So, there are some fixes you can do in the video itself. Then some fixes on the youtube of the video page. And some channel optimization.

The video itself - if you can do a fresh edit on it you can add a tail on the end with a black screen and your web address.

In the description directly below the video, you want to put a link to your site in the first sentence. Don't make me have to click the "more" button in the description to find you.

Think about it this way. If I found your video before I found your site I have no clue where to find your site, phone #, information. I see your video, and where do I go then?

You want to use all external sites to the best of your ability to help drive traffic back to your site.

You can type up the transcript of what the nice lady is saying, and stick that in the description on the video and you can add some #keywords to follow.

There are some additional things that can be done on your channel as well to help you hone in on your specific location - which is going to be very key for you. Your services are for a specified area - which again should be more specified than just NYC IMO, but that's your call obviously.

Where are these great reviews this lady is speaking of? I'd definitely want to be directed to where I can see those too.

A LOT here to work on, thanks! Taking on your recommendations one by one, first, the "true" reviews are located on my Testimonials page but I am guessing you're saying that a link to that page need to be inside the script?

Next, I have the script used in that video which I had made myself so if using that script in the video description field then would there still be any need or purpose to use a transcript under the actual video on the home page please?

SEO Point of view Video option best for the website. Video cover most things like tutorial, demo, solutions, product presentation so most of user like this. They directly drive traffic on website and youtube alternatively. you know YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine in the world so youtube rank also matter in google. Website Embedded video smoothly increases conversion rates to leads.

In my experience, people always like video over a bunch of images. If you think about it and how Youtube is the #2 search engine on the planet (and owned by Google), it makes sense that Google would rank videos higher than images.

A little off topic but something that you may be into, I actually just stumbled upon this AWESOME Fiverr gig! You can get 3, 100% original and Copyscape approved articles for just $5! You can check it out here: https://www.fiverr.com/awesomeabs5/p...ntent-articles

I hope that helps and good luck

They're both fairly meaningless for SEO. Most sites don't get their images to rank for anything competitive. YouTube links are nofollow, and average business videos don't usually rank that well even in the YouTube search.

However, I'd go for video if you've got enough resources to produce a decent one. It's easier to communicate your business idea with sound and moving picture.

Where did you get this impression? YouTube itself ranks, and some of the videos do, but it doesn't do much good for your money site.

And what's the supposed mechanism behind this? Videos may actually increase the bounce rate because people may leave after watching the video. Not that bounce rate itself means that much... If you're talking about an embedded video you still have to rank the page.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?
