Why do I rank higher on google search on my laptop than mobile or other laptops?

Hello all

I have noticed something that I do not really understand (just add it to a long list in the world of SEO)

Why, when I google my keywords (eg Wedding Photographer in Glasgow) on my laptop, I am ranked 3rd on page 1. On my father in law's laptop I am on page 8. On my mobile, I am page 9.

It is the same for other search terms too (wedding photographer in Scotland, wedding photographer in Dumfries)

I am so confused! Can anyone help explain please?

    Clear your browser's cached and cookies data and search in private window. Log out from your mail log ins and then search for keywords. You can check on smallseotools to confirm your keywords ranking.

    This might be because you created your website from that laptop. You are also logged in to your Google account that I think is linked to the website. (you installed Google Analytics on it).
    Because of this Google is giving your website special treatment when you search for something. The real ranking of your website is the one you see on other devices.

    There could also be another factor why you are placed lower in the SERPs when searching from a mobile device: Your website does not have a mobile version. (Google stated a while back that it will favor websites that are mobile friendly)

    You are seeing personalized search results in Google when you see your site ranking well on your own device. Clear out all your browsing data and check it in a private browsing window or an incognito window in Chrome. That will give you a better idea of your true ranking.

      Chrome will carry over search history from the regular browser to incognito.
