Backlinks to the inner pages, Any effect on the main page?

Hello Folks,

Just would like to know if generating backlinks to the inner pages of a website can really affect the main page to rank in google as well or it just affect the inner page link?

I mean suppose I have a website like xxx.com
If I just generate backlinks to xxx.com/yyy Can I see any rank for the xxx.com as well?
If so, is it considerable ?

    it is one of the backlinks you have to build for your site. beside you should build more backlink like EMAT, Partial, Genneric, and Brand Backlinks. you also contribute them in suitable rate.

    Yes internal backlinking is a major part of onpage SEO so i would advise you to do internal linking.
