Well i did add adsence to it and i can see the adv on my blog, i know as per rules you are not supposed to click on your own advs. but what if i need to know what kind of advs are there and wanna click to check it out. Is that okey.

Do advice. Also i need to show the blog i created to my friend who is helping me in some design works, what happens if he clicks on the adv.

As a rule of thumb, if you "happen" to click, just notify Google immediately and ask for forgiveness.

For sure don't make a habit of it.

      Alright,
well if i am putting a adv on my website i would like to know what kind of adv is it right. when i apply for adsence they insert the advs..alright fine. but wat if i need to know what kind of advs are these the landing page etc.
for eg lets say i create a site for education primary school related stuffs, so obvisouly google will place advs related to tht, but i also dont want to mislead the ppl clicking on the advs. so for that reason i too want to know what is the adv abt, the landing page etc..

The thing to remember about clicking the ads, is that somebody pays you for that click out of their advertising budget. I'm not talking about Google, a big multibillion dollar company, I mean some small guy with a blog just like yours who is paying by the click to advertise there, and when you click that ad you take the money that he has given Google to generate customers for him.

Is clicking the ad the right thing to do?

Could I suggest you look at the url of the advertisements and type it into your url bar and go directly to the landing page. That way you won't be clicking on the ad but you will, once you reach the site be able to look at it and other pages that their text is telling you they are promoting and then you will know if you are happy to promote their ad.

        Just a thought

    Kris,

Look, if you are running AdSense you have given Google control and there is really not much you can do. Click your ads, they will probably ban you. You can manually follow the URL and you WILL get to the site although perhaps not the exact page.

If you run AdSense, you have given google control. Sounds like you don't want to give google control, so don't run AdSense

Yes i give google control but i do have rights to know what kind of ads is placed on my website.
i didnt sound like i dont give full control to google.
All i wanted to know is what the ads types were and i got to know it by following the URL thanks @ mistyone. The wesite is about primary school so its mostly kids visiting the site, i dont want to mislead them by ads on my website which is totaly different from the topic on the website.

You can use Google's competitive ad filter to block certain sites from advertising on your page, so if you find a site that is objectionable you can just block it instead of dropping adsense ads altogether.

I believe Google also has a preview tool you can use to check the landing pages of the ads on your site, although I haven't used it (I just manually type in the url address, as others have suggested). Check adsense help to find the preview tool.

if you want to know the ads landing page without clicking on it, simply follow this step..

          1) Right Click on the ads you want .. ( not left click)
          2) Select Copy Shortcut.
          3) Open notepad and select paste
          4) then you will see the source code of the google ads.. you will find the url of the landing page in here.. just copy it to your browser. walla!
