This is born of a thought i have had, fooling around with seo. Trying to understand it, would completely optimizing you site for seo, mean all blogs posts, threads and descriptions being based heavily on good key words? Sounds mighty difficult to achieve. Any thoughts on how to simplify this?

While good keywords and targeted articles are one step, that is not where SEO ends.

You might want to google "google seo guide", it comes directly from google and is a good starting point!

What's the alternative, optimizing for keywords nobody else cares about?

Its more my particular niche. Finding the right keywords is difficult for my brand of site. this is my own fault for not thinking of this more before committing to it. Does anyone know a good site or app for finding hot keywords related to your niche?
